In this video you can see a complete wash of colored cottons with the Riber II series from 1954. You can find more details about this washing machine in another video here on my channel at: • Riber II serie 1954 P...
The washing is carried out with a full load which is 3 kg of dry laundry and exceptionally a vintage Dixan powder detergent is used. For this load of colored cottons, a single main wash is carried out followed by three rinses and, since the laundry is made of resistant fabric, the rinses are carried out using the spin basket instead of making a deep water rinse more suitable for delicate fabrics. No fabric softener is used in the final rinse because the laundry will be dried in a tumble dryer, so the fabric softener would have the only effect of changing the final fragrance of the laundry but being the fragrance of the vintage Dixan so good it would be a shame to cover it with that of the softener. The cycle is completed with a very effective final spin at 1300 rpm. Since the wash water in the Riber can be used for more than a single wash, the soapy water was saved so as not to waste it on a single load, and two more wash cycles were performed (which you don't see in the video), one with another batch of dark colored laundry and a last one as a pre-wash of kitchen towels which were then added to complete the load of normally soiled white laundry that did not require prewash and had already been loaded and was ready to be washed by my Candy Superautomatic 7 washing machine of which you can see a video here on my channel at: • Candy Superautomatic 7...
