This video was amazing, thank you for being so detailed. Would you consider doing the same types of videos for other projections such as C , T and L Spine? Also for extremities such as femur or humerus? The way you teach it makes it make more sense to me.

How come for the suspected right anterior fracture the left anterior rib cage is closest to the Bucky while for the suspected left posterior fracture the left posterior rib area is closest to the Bucky? Shouldn't it be RAO for suspected right anterior rib fracture?

Anterior Oblique Rib positioning protocol Always position patient with the affected ( side pain is on ) AWAY from IR. So if the patient complains of RIGHT anterior pain Position patient with the LEFT side touching IR and the RIGHT side ( painful side ) away from IR So you would first do a PA then you would do position 45 with affected side away LAO keep central ray on Right side use a 14x17 and make sure you include Left &Right markets, Posterior obliques are easier because you place the painful side Closest to IR for Posterior pain place patient into AP position back touching IR then position patient 45 degrees with painful side touching IR ( Right Posterior pain would be RPO right side touching IR Oblique Rib can be confusing but just remember anterior ribs affected side AWAY this causes the ribs to elongate and required in all rib x- ray exams also A PA Chest to rule out pneumothorax also ordered just remember to change your SID from 72 for Chest to 40 for Rib Series I had been an instructor for many years good luck
