I've rollerbladed since I was in middle school (32 now) on and off for my whole life but nobody ever actually taught me any of this. I recently got back into it and I was really curious what the trick to it actually is. Great video! And I wanted to say that when you first atarted skating forward, I always think of that motion like you're throwing your weight forward. I have a really hard time stopping, using the brake, and going backwards. I hope to finally master those skills!

Great full-length video! I started during covid with soft boots, and they were, as I realized eventually. literally rotating around my foot as I tried to turn, so I kept falling. They soon changed their minds and stopped laughing and were encouraging. It was great fun and now I’m itching to get back on the blades, I ache but have so much fun that I don’t care. Angela -- maybe if you live in an urban area, there's a shopping mall or an office building that's closed on w.e. not far from you, and you can try to practice in their parking lot? Or sometimes in biiig parking lots, there's a top floor or bottom floor that's not crowded except on special occasions, and you can practice there... you might get kicked out if spotted, but as a more mature citizen, you might leave you alone if you can sweet-talk the watchmen. :-) Good luck -- it's a lotta fun.
