All us old skaters are coming back. I used to skate in the 90's and always wanted to get back into it then covid came, perfect opportunity. Got a pair of Aeons and first day back I was doing perfect top souls, I didn't even have to re-learn landed all soul grinds first try, for the top souls took me like 3-5 tries before I perfected them. You really never lose it with inline, skateboardings another story.

I’m surprised nobody’s talking about this, but the Blank soul has a genius design where the surface isn’t flat, but a bunch of random angles. Hard to explain, but it creates the effect of grinding on the fewest points of contact possible, making for a super smooth grind.

I have both mesmers skates , I haven’t skated DB’s yet , lol he JB feels great. Like zero complaints, I did heat mold the liners twice and installed a Supra insole cuz stock insoles are crap.

Great video! All around! Just one question. I a pretty big guy these days and I thought of getting back into aggressive inline along with skateboarding and BMX and MTB. Pretty much everything within the world of athletic artforms. Yet, I'm not sure what skate would be best for me to start off with getting back in. I'm 6,0, 240 lbs., plus I'm looking towards both comfort and stability. What skate would you recommend for me starting back?

Ricardo this list may work for those one with large feet. THEM Rollerblade etc are too big for people on 8/9 Us really. Razors Shift is better than all of those for a tight fit.

Great list, fantastic explanations of your opinions on each skate. I am curious though about the RB Blank SKs, other than the feeling of tightness, why switch liners? I have heard a lot of skaters who have/do skate these and they say pretty much the same thing which is the right boot liner has some sort of odd stitch that began to scrap or dig into their foot. It was such an odd thing to hear so I was wondering if you encountered that issue as well.

Hi Gizmo, to be fully honest I haven't found that problem. I skate the BLANK liner on other hard boot free skate often and never felt it...

I switched my shoes to barefoot shoes (All of them) already more than a year ago, and now my Razors Shift are too reduced in the toe box for me to continue skating them. hey Vince I would say more than the foot length, you gonna need to look at foot width, if you have a slim foot or a narrow foot..theres plenty of options..

I literally can’t and they keep reducing my options for any above 300 mono skates.valo and roces? Sorry no fifths in 15 like in the 90s… nope. No valos at 15… no mold excuses now either and usd is full of it to say so because my gawds in size 14 aren’t an imagination and they are the black and red carbon frees and the size 13 carbon doesn’t use molds but lasts and that is gone too since the black 2020… JERKS!

A couple of questions from an American without a local shop to try stuff out! Your honorable mentions - my back to blading skates were Aeon 80s. My wife got into fitness skating and I wanted one pair to skate with her and do the park. But the big wheels scare me to learn on. Even though I skated 20 years ago, I never really learned to grind and want to. I thought about getting a more park oriented skate and thought about the FR UFR because I've got wide-ish feet. How do you feel it behaves as an aggressive skate? I already have bigger wheel covered, so I probably wouldn't do big wheel frames on the skate for a while. I'm looking for a skate that inspires confidence learning to grind with no one around me skating, so I'll be learning alone. I'm now thinking about Mesmer and that Roces model. I've heard Roces can be a touch narrow, so I've been a bit nervous to try. Would you say you have a pretty average width and height foot? Your videos have been great since I got back into skating. I love that you skate multiple disciples.

If you don't have a shop to try on sizes/brands, and the Aeon 80 fits you well then get the Aeon 60. I have the Team XXI, great skates, cheers from Down Under.

I just got the Roces 5th element Ilia Savosin model and I was also scared of it being too tight and screwng up my feet, I have pretty weird and wide feet myself and I gotta say, they're the only rollerblades that feel that good on my feet. Granted it has a pretty painful first few rides especially for the toes, but as long as you order your feet lenght, the liner will grow inside the shell as the shell on those runs larger. Hope that helps and if you can try some I definitly would

The only reason the new 909 are more supportive is because they made them out of another stronger plastic. I know so bcus i got the new grey 908 and it was part of the propaganda. And i own THEM 908 and they are very supportive to me.
