Clarence Bass was never a great looking guy in the facial department and has always looked older in appearence, even when he was quite younger. Some people look younger or older their entire lives so Clarence Bass looking old in the face is not surprising and has no correlation to diet.

Yea, I have his first 6 books, the first 3 give everything you need to know to live the ripped lifestyle. Dry inspiring and I recommend them highly to anyone who is sick of the high protein low carb approach or anyone needing inspiration to train and eat for health and fitness long term.

I had in 1980-81 Clarence Bass ripped books 1 and 2 . The diet definitely worked . PB sandwich plain yogurt and a baked potato . Probably the best I looked but then again I was 27 not going on 62 . Had his Tshirts Get Ripped . Nor the traditional low carb or low fat diet. I need to get back on that diet again in a modification form . Definitely Clarence Bass one of my favorites . 👍🏻👏🏻🙌🏻💪🏻... Thanks Ric and Clarence for this wonderful interview

I have worked out for a long time but Have not seen these guys from the golden era for so long because I stopped following in mid 80's . For some reason just turned on and it is nice to see that some of these guys are such nice folks and well adjusted. Of course there are some sad cases but most of these gentleman in their 60's and up are well adjusted.

Ric, can we put to bed once and for all the myth that in maturity we have to lower the intensity of our weight training routines because we necessarily are more vulnerable to injury and systemic debilitation. I'm nearly 71, have been training for 46 years, don't take steroids or any of that crap, and yet am as strong as I've ever been and have the muscular quality and volume that I did when in my physical prime. And I do lift as heavy , if not heavier, than I ever have before. I do concede however that for the last 10 years or so, I need more recovery time between training sessions. Anyway Ric, I really liked the interview with Clarence and appreciated his candor and wisdom , acquired of course through his long experience of bodybuilding and nutrition.

Fantastic, I have followed Clarence over the years, it’s refreshing, to hear how reasonable he is. I agree with the interviewer regarding the lack of awareness regarding proper technique in gyms today, I was a Nautilus instructor in the 80s and even then we were given basic training regarding form as well form for free weights. Also regarding the. Resurgence of the low carb craze I would say Clarence benefits from like eating low carb because his diet is naturally and reasonably low being whole. No need to go to extremes, just observation. I am also a big fan of the late Dr. Leonard Schwartz the inventor of heavyhands. And longstrength training. Clarence has an article or two of his discussions.Another brilliant mind. Great interview here.

Love hearing the older guys perspective on training, especially since they've got the years of training under their belts. Speaking of which, Stallone has his movie Creed coming out in November, now is the time to put your feelers out to try and get him on as a Skype guest. I hear he loves to talk training and might enjoy doing interviews that will actually be of interest to him also. Besides, you have a lot of viewers now to justify his time as a guest to promote his movie.
