Isn't it amazing how much popular culture back then introduced the general public and especially children to high culture? This is a prime example, and so are lots of Warner Brothers cartoons, e.g. "What's Opera, Doc?", the one with Daffy as Robin Hood (the intro has Porky Pig as Friar Tuck riding on a donkey and singing "Barbara Allen"), or the one where Bugs Bunny dresses up as "Leopold" (Stokowski, but they never say that name) to deal with a tenor once and for all? But now? No, it's [current year], and everything that came before must be destroyed.
