low key a hidden gem; such a fun anthology type piece; especially since it ties in some great backstory to a side character that we see for like 2 minutes at the beginning of this movie and then has a whole pivotal side plot in the 3rd movie

The first Matrix is widely regarded as by far the best in the entry, including by myself. If you really like the second one more than fair play to you! I do think the 2nd and 3rd get a lot of hate that is not warranted, they are still great! The 4th one just sucks ass though, cant lie. Animatrix is awesome and I would def check it out as a Matrix fan

The Matrix sequels have been getting progressively weaker. Therefore, instead of the second and third parts, I recommend. check out the consolidated ("Matrix 2+3 ultimate") version. All the childish, stupid, and boring parts have been cut from the 2nd and 3rd movies, resulting in a fast-paced, three-hour action film that's a worthy continuation of the first Matrix. As an extra change, we also get two minutes from Matrix 4 at the end, showing an older Neo and Trinity. It's worth noting that Matrix 2 and 3 were originally filmed together, with the story split into two parts and released in theaters six months apart. So, the Matrix was never really a trilogy. Wiith the ULTIMATE version, we now have a proper continuation, and hopefully someone will eventually create a decent third part (Matrix 4 is unbearably bad)... Let’s just forget about it. I've seen kishimoto recently in an anime expo in Paris, he said he was so much inspired by the matrix and he fixed his character design by adapting the style of the matrix costume designs, that was the reason for the robes and capes, also the whole Madara's plan is obviously putting the Shinobi world under the matrix jutsu

@@gandalfthegrey7600 he was asked about Boruto and he said that his long time assistant which took over the story is better with fashion something he's not so good with, also after the Boruto movie, he didn't really influence the story, it's mainly his assistant work

@@gandalfthegrey7600 i don't know if the interpreter didn't do his job very well or what but kishimoto said (from the translation) that the story is no longer his, he was talking about how he was the one making decisions to kill off characters and he wanted in the past to kill more characters during the writing of naruto/shippuden and Mikio convinced him to spare some characters, in fact he said he wasn't satisfied with the end or resolve of Pain's arc since he thought that pain was kinda right and he couldn't find the perfect end for that arc, but he was satisfied with the Sasuke/Naruto resolve, then he added that the story of Boruto was already figured out by Mikio or let's say the major points, i would guess kishimoto is writing the in between this major moments and he can always change things

I always thought of The Matrix as a 'spiritual sequel' to Terminator, like a time line in which Skynet wins an enslaves humanity in a VR program. If there ever was a "prequel", that would be Will Smith's movie 'I Robot' (birth/early years of AI).

You guys were right, also great job this is my favorite movie series. Think of Smith as a virus code, your mind is a computer. So when Smith imprinted himself on the dude. The dude kept all his natural ability, i.E. being able to zip in and out of matrix using a phoneline. However Smith's consciousness is whats in the driver's seat. And that's what happens to anyone Smith encodes on.

26:02 The brain is used as a computer, the same way they 'learn' skills when jacked in. Essentially it can run any code, the same way the agents jack in to any person still plugged in. Smith does this to Bane - just imagine it's like a computer but it's disconnected from the internet.

So the Wachowski’s who wrote these movies are trans women. They hid a ton of gay coding and BDSM stuff on purpose. It’s why Trinity is dressed in a kink outfit, why in the first movie one of the crew is named Switch because they were supposed to be a different gender in and out of the matrix. Lastly it’s why Neo receives the Disney Princess kiss at the end of the movie. The red pill is a real pill for estrogen transitioning in the late 90s. These movies are god damn amazing
