Rice University and Jayson Carter were destined to be paired together. As a child, the Houston-native ran the steps of Rice Stadium with his dad for exercise. Years later Carter is one of the shortest players in college football history, suiting up for one of the smallest schools in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision.
"Everyday you don't see someone who is 4'9" trying to walk on to a Division I football team." Remember that quote from Carter; it could be on a movie poster one day.
The Houston native is already a celebrity. The video of his Rice Owls debut has a half-million views on KZbin.
The computer science major and Rice Owls running back has been a head-turner and an inspiration ever since he put on a football helmet and pads at Rice University. He’s just like the university at which he plays: small but powerful.
