Exactly...I'm 44 years old. I grew up watching wrestling in the Golden Age....from like 1984 on and then watched through the Attitude era. Back then Kayfaybe was everything. I never imagined I would here stories later on in life about what happened backstage with these guys. From the age of 5 till probably 12 I genuinely believed the WWE wrestlers were actually the characters they played on TV. I guess I imagined that they lived and dressed that way at wherever they lived ( I think at one point I thought they all traveled together for WWF like a circus and they must live in tents somewhere. I never comprehended they were real people until I turned 12 or 13. When Undertaker had his debut at Survivor Series in 1990 I remember being 11 years old and being absolutely terrified of him. My young brain actually believed he was an old Western Mortician that happened to also be a zombie monster that couldn't be hurt lol. But within a few months of seeing him on TV even though he was a heel I started to cheer for him. When he turned face by saving Ms Elizabeth and Macho Man from the attach by Jake Roberts I marked out so hard my screams could be heard across town. Lol. I love these pod casts the stars from my youth do now to show a look behind the scenes. Ravishing Rick Rude was an amazing talent. He was one of the best workers in the business while having a great body for TV and all while being a legit bad ass who could beat the brakes off just about anyone. I know he was a bouncer at the infamous bar in Minneapolis where the Road Warriors also bounced at before they all got into wrestling and that Rick was also a National Champion in arm wrestling.

It's seemingly more of the late Rick Rude not putting up with any locker room nonsense and antics grom anyone being (from what I've seen in interviews concerning him) unprofessional and botching spots, Mr. Balzy. There were guys he mentored and gave lip service to in assisting them. It's possible he may have had some drug issues later in in his career that could've caused his temperament to change, sir Idk??

Rick Rude showed how loyal he was when he did the same day WWE and WCW live TV thing. He was pissed at Vince for the way he did Bret Hart. That was his main motivation for leaving the WWE for WCW. I loved Rude's whole deal. Steve Austin tells a couple of GREAT stories about Rude. Ric Flair is my all time favorite, but I think Rude was one of the most underrated wrestlers of all time. The one big difference is I don't think Rude would ever be great at getting guys over, and a heel champion's number 1 job is just that... get the babyfaces over. Ric Flair was THE MASTER of getting guys over. I mean, just think of how many careers he made getting guys over in the WCW

One time? Hogan worked repeatedly with the bigger heels, but only worked with Rude once? I'm not going to call Ric a liar over this. He was in the NWA at the time, and one random match might be something that Ric was never aware of. It's obvious that Hogan didn't want to wrestle guys that might not so easily just go along with whatever he wanted to do. Rude... Bret... eh. Some people might say Savage, but whatever antics Savage had behind the scenes, he put other guys over. Pretty often. Hogan obviously knew that despite whatever issues they might have had, Savage would job to him any day of the week.

There's a match between Rude and Hogan in the wwf back in '87 or '88, I think. It was on one of wwe's Hulk Hogan videos. As for the claim that Hulk wouldn't work with Rude in WCW, that doesn't seem possible. Hulk didn't come to WCW until July of '94 and Rude had to retire due to his neck injury in May of '94, so there wasn't an opportunity for them to wrestle in WCW.

I remember the Rude Warrior feuds and Rick Rude carried the Warrior in all those matches especially their cage match from Summer Slam 1990, I really wish they would have put the WWF title on Rude, he deserved to be the Champion, he was one of the greatest heels in the WWF and him along with Mr Perfect never got a chance to hold the WWF World title, it’s kind of sad because the Warrior sucked and I believe Rick Rude or Curt Hennig would have been great WWF Champions

@@EthansCONN I read it on the wrestlingforums website back in the day. Not sure if it was ever in anything official like the wrestling observer but it did make a few sheets and there was enough believability behind it. It was in WCW in the early 90s, Nash was talking crap about someone or another in Rick's presence at a hotel bar and Rick became angry and banged his hand on the table and told Nash he was going back to his hotel and moving the furniture and to meet him later that night for a discussion. Nash didn't say anything but checked into a different hotel that night than the one the wrestlers were staying in. So clearly Nash was not interested in meeting Rick. For what its worth, Nash completely denied it in a shoot interview which is to be expected of course.

That title story probably happened in Philly at Slamboree. Rude wanted to go out and cut a promo with the belt. They wouldn't let him. Instead they had Nick Bockwinkle come out with the title and ready to pass it on to Sting citing some kayfabe bs that the decision in Japan had been reversed and Sting was still the champion. That's when Sting said he wouldn't accept it, to vacant the title and have the winner of him against Vader be the new champion.

@@TDL-xg5nn according to Scott Steiner, Rude would follow Flair around the building all day telling him he looked like shit and shouldn’t be the champion. Apparently it got to the point where Flair would just disappear until his match because it hurt his feelings.
