Matthew Stafford is my favorite player in the league, precisely because of games like this. He makes the improbable, probable. As a Lions fan, when the coverage from our game switched to the Rams-49ers game, suddenly at 24-24 with the Rams driving for a game winning FG, after the 49ers had been leading by 2 TDs the entire game, I wasn't surprised. I was delighted, because I knew what was about to go down, as it always does. "Oh nice! Bonus Stafford comeback coverage! perfect!" Sure enough, next play, he draws the PI on the free play and the Rams are in FG range. He's just _that guy._ Comeback King. Even as someone who's watched him for well over a decade, I shake my head at just how great he is. . What a moral boost for the Rams, to know they have a QB like that. All you gotta do is give him a chance to win it for ya.

Stafford was the Lions QB my entire teenage years and into my 20's. Everyone who watched him in Detroit knew the game was over when he got it back on that last drive. Stafford is elite, and always has been. I'm so happy to see him having success and recognition in LA.

An elite QB is one who can succeed in a multitude of places. There are a lot of people who just think Purdy would not be successful anywhere else. Look at some of the higher drafted QBs struggling like a Trevor Lawrence. Would he still struggle in SF with Shanahan and would Purdy be successful in Jacksonville? That answer is likely no.

As a rams fans there’s a reason so many Niners fans are at rams games. Because most Niners fans ARE LA residents. LA didn’t have a team in the 2000’s so plenty of kids who grew up in LA didn’t have much to cheer for unless they were a die hard rams or raiders fan. So many naturally picked the niners over the chargers because the chargers were dogshit at the time. Not to mention how many SF residents likely moved to LA for the cheaper cost of living in recent years. I know one day the Rams presence in LA will be much stronger but for now we just need to chug along and keep winning more bowls. Something the Niners haven’t done in almost 30 years.💀
