Baker Mayfield on the Browns was nowhere near as bad as Young has been. He actually wasn't really that bad at all. He played well the year they ended their playoff drought and it was generally thought to be odd that they sent him packing for a guy who hadn't played in two years. So Mayfield finding another team made sense. At the worst he would have been considered an acceptable choice for a backup with lots of potential. Young looks like he forgot how to play. If he was drafted outside the first round with this level of play he would be cut and no one would pick him up. His draft position is 100% of his appeal at this point.

@@akiraSRT the Green Bay game was the only flash. It was the only time he threw for over 250 yards in a game and the offense scored a season high 30. But he followed that up the next two weeks with 2 horrible performances and the offense got shut out back to back weeks to end the year. In daltons one start last season he threw for more yards than Bryce did all year with the same receivers. And the panthers trailed in every single game so even with more garbage time than most he still only had 1 decent game in 18. That’s simply not enough.

Feels like the sports media is trying so hard at convincing themselves they weren’t wrong about Bryce, and instead it was the Panthers that ruined him. Not every first round qb succeeds, every draft has its bust. Why is it so hard to believe that a 5’9 ~180lb qb that looks like they belong on a JV team is not gonna work out. The deck is stacked against him, and smaller qb that have succeed like Brees, Kyler, and Wilson or exceptions to the rule.

This season Bryce has had an offensive line with top 5 pass protection, open receivers, and he can't trust himself to make a read or throw a screen pass. He was unplayable through these first two weeks with no sign of improvement (only regression from last year). His play deserved being benched for. And while he has talent, there are some areas he is still working on. I'll take the losses this year, and hope that next year he can start and do well. Comparing records of current young QBs to historical QBs is a pointless exercise. The game is different, the pressure and money is different, the microscope and media is different, and the patience fans and owners have is different. The best thing in the world for Bryce would probably be to get out of Carolina no matter what form that takes, and if it takes getting benched and not getting another opportunity…hey he won the lottery once, he’ll be fine. He looks miserable on this team emotionally, just totally hates life right now. Get him off the field, get him on a new team and some distance from this owner, and you probably still have a capable player.

Yes he would actually. CJ Stroud did more with less last year and had the best rookie season of all time. Bryce had an awful yards per attempt last year and 4.4 air yards per attempt this year. He doesn’t even try to throw down field it’s literally only bad check downs.

@@TBrady2289G8O CJ Stroud had less????Bryces best weapon on offense last year was Adam Theilen. The reason why the yards per attempt was so low because he had no weapons that could create after the catch. I'm not saying Bryce would be doing what CJ Stroud is at all. But he would not be so bad he would be benched week 2 if he was in that situation

@@colemilzYou did see where he said 4.4 AIR yards right?

@@40EastTrill yes I did. They had 2 running backs as their top 5 catchers last year. When nobody gets open down the field you check the ball down. When you have no time in the pocket you check the ball down. That explains 4.4 air yards

@@40EastTrill does Bryce has some blame for that? Absolutely but when you trade DJ Moore and draft capital you are draining assets from a QB that needs a system to succeed. Absolutely brainless from the Panthers
