The Hawks are a definite playoff contender. You have to remember, they were ONE Green Bay loss away from making the playoffs last year. And what has happened since then? They retained their top talent and made clear upgrades at OC & DC. This team should only improve throughout the season as the coaching staff instills their scheme and vision throughout this group. As a Seahawks fan, I was concerned the beginning of the season would be very rough and that they would then grow to become a strong complete team by end of season. The fact that they are 3 - 0 and will continue to improve...that's an exciting thing for Hawks fans.

I definitely agree they have yet to play their best football and I am very excited about being 3-0. But I am also cautious going into this week because we haven’t been truly tested and our o line is the worst in the league. I agree we are a playoff team but the NFC is also looking more competitive this year. If we get the win over the Lions my hopes for this team for this year will go into super drive lol but for now I am hopefully optimistic and taking it a week at a time.

We beat teams we should have beaten. Our OLine is worse than last year, so that made the first two games closer than they needed to be. We can go as far as the OLine allows. That means: if we can’t get better IOL play, especially from Bradford and Tomlinson, and Abe and Fant aren’t ready to play soon, we will need Geno magic again to overcome the flaming garbage of an OLine we’re forced to suffer through. And Geno can only do so much.

Yeah, using the "is that the guy" talking point when talking about both Geno and Fields is laughable at this point. Geno as a Seahawks starter is *averaging* 68.1% comp, 4,222 yards, 26 TD to 11 INT (per 17 games), to say nothing of the offensive line woes. Fields hasn't touched 3K yards or 20 TDs as a starter and he's not on pace for either with the Steelers this year.

Geno was a backup for six years, yet you'll hear every analyst (including Rich in this video) say he spent ten years as a backup. This is his 11th season, and fifth as a starter. Next season he'll have been a starter for as long as he was a backup, and you'll still get analysts saying he's been a backup "most of his career".

I'm a Seattle fan and it's totally fair to wonder how good they are right now. I am pleased so far because they're clearly an improved team (especially on defense) from where they finished last year. But, they obviously need to beat someone like Detroit to show they're a serious contender. And hopefully this is the year where the rivalry with SF returns to glory and they can get at least one win against them. Geno has clutch tendencies and is really good about late game heroics, plus his accuracy is still solid. So while I hope they do start thinking of life beyond Geno, he's a reliable starter for 2024.

Ill just say they had the WORST defense last year and were a half game out of the playoffs. There is now a much much better defense and an offense whose playcalling is much improved. We talk about the teams being overall not good but this is also a brand new offense that has faced good to great defenses and had success. it just feels wrong to be blown off as a team that hasnt faced anybody too simple of a take tbh.

It's not Geno, or not just Geno I guess. The Steelers have Tomlin who has been a HC for a million years, KOC is in his 3rd season as HC of the Vikings. The Seahawks have an all new everything for coaches. And some of us are waiting for the other shoe to drop for Justin Fields and Sam Darnold, I trust Geno more than either of these two QBs to sustain success this season.

Fair assessment. I see this year as a throw away, as we're reforming into a new team. The reason we have a whole new staff was last year the coaching was sooooo verrrrrryyyy baaaaaaad. Atrocious even! The guys were despondent last year. They're excited this year, and effective! And the best part; we have so much room for improvement, and they know it. I'm so happy with the changes. People were worried about the culture? We have a stronger culture and better identity! I loved Pete, but we were overdue for change. GO HAWKS!

Real test comes this Monday night where what has probably become subtlety one of the best "rivalries" in the NFL. The last THREE meetings have gone to be one of the best games of the entire year 🤷👀 While also going back to back years where at the end of the last week both teams had the possibilities to knock the other out of the playoffs either indirectly or by beating them week 18! Even going back 10 years the Hawks and Lions met up Wild Card weekend in a classic playoff match up!

I agree but we can also rebuttal with the fact that Patriots were coming off the win vs the Bengals, Broncos just beat the Buccs in TB, Dolphins have Tyreek, Waddle, Achane and McDaniel as an “offensive guru” yet can’t get 1 touchdown even when handed the ball at the 5 yd line? All I can say is these games definitely helped the defense and offense hit strides and learn from mistakes so they’ll only be playing better from now on.

This MNF is the litmus test for this Seahawks team. No doubt they look well drilled and their pass defence is for real. Also one of the better WR groups but they need to prove they have markedly improved from last season at stopping the run and their O line needs to declare its here to stay. That being said, if Geno can be consistent as well they're gonna at least make the play offs and then who knows.

It is, the o line works enough for that, i consider our 3 rbs amazing, even the 3rd one mcintosh is amazing, but hasn't gotten touches, last week, zach got a 100 yards, kenneth got it in week 1, our run game is good, our passing game works, but it can harm us with sacks or ints from our trash pass blocking o line, so yes, what we need is better pass block from the o line

They have the POTENTIAL of a young star studded hungry defense like the LOB was but SLOOOOWWWWW your roll crowning them with a title even close to that 2012-2018 Seahawks defense! LOB era is arguably the greatest defense to ever play... In the debate with the 85' Bears, 2000's Ravens, 2016's Broncos and ones like The Steel Curtain or The Purple People Eaters 🤔👀 The LOB wasn't a one hit wonder either. They had 6 consecutive seasons as #1 in points allowed, Top 5 in yards allowed, Top3 in turnovers and sacks. Most D's only have a magical year maybe 2 and 3 if they not playing with a QB taking top notch money 🤷💀 With Julian Love, Riq Woolen, Devon Witherspoon and rushers like Boye Mafe, Byron Murphy, Leonard Williams, Nawosu, coming into thier own individually and as a group. But we haven't played ANY offensive team worth 2 shits thus far let alone a average QB before we even see about our D against a Mahomes, Allen, Stafford ect... LOB also had BOBBY WAGNER a 1st ballot HOF just as ET, Chancellor and Sherman all should be not to forget Kj Wright the most underrated LB in the league for most of a decade. Monday will show us if this defenses hype is justified or built on weak offenses

I am worried that the Seahawks Linebacker group. They have played well so far but I fell like a more experienced quarterback might be able to light them up. The first real test begins on Monday. If we can make it by the lions without too many injuries that is a good sign for the season.

Hawks fan here, and I agree we don't know if they are legit or not. But historically we've always played at the level of the team we are playing against and also got cooked by backup QB's. That doesn't look to be the case now but I'll take it with a grain of salt. What I do see is that defense is looking fast and the tackling looks solid. I'll take that all day. Either way this whole season will be fun as we have lower expectations with a new coaching staff and a ton of new players. Either way it's a win win for us.
