And to think if they had benched Watson way earlier in the year, the Browns would probably be in contention for at least a wild card spot. Look, I'm a Browns fan. It's great that they beat the Ravens. It's great that Winston went in and had a really good game. However, let's be honest. The Ravens absolutely should have won that game. To borrow a phrase - the Browns did not win the game so much as the Ravens LOST it. Two dropped INT's that should have killed Cleveland drives. Jackson with two shots at the end zone as time ran out, and neither connected. ???
@davebrzezowski11593 күн бұрын
Let's be honest watson sucks😂and has never come close to a performance of that magnitude
@mattj54923 күн бұрын
I'll admit I am a Ravens fan but I'm trying to be honest and I totally agree with what you say. Even with the massive improvement over Watson and Chubb back they still should have lost 99 out of 100 times. The missed interceptions, the ball directly to Bateman downfield and he drops what an average college player could catch, it's undeniable the Browns were massively lucky, there's no chance they could beat top teams regularly the way they played, they could barely hang in. The Ravens are objectively better but also objectively their defense is far worse than in past years and must improve. As many have said, as long as the coaching and the player discipline can improve each game they will be in good playoff form come January, otherwise they'll be 1 and done.
@Foley023 күн бұрын
That goes both ways. The Ravens got lucky with that blind side hit FF and recovery. And we dropped INTs, too. "Don't get overly excited" is a good message but with 300+ yards and 3 TD's? Hope is warranted. Flacco was INT prone too. He still went 5-2 and might have beaten the Texans had our defense not failed us that day. (Heavy might but still a might) So getting excited over this isn't a ridiculous notion.
@mattj54923 күн бұрын
@@Foley02 I agree to not get overly excited. One game does not define a team. Browns were very hyped with the switch to Winston and getting Chubb back. The Ravens on the other hand were on a shorter week and 2 main CBs out injured in Humphrey and Wiggins - not helpful when your defense is already shaky. Next week could be totally different!
@Foley023 күн бұрын
@mattj5492 True but even if he throws INT's and we lose, it'll be like the Texans game which was still objectively better than any game Watson has played. We are Browns fans. Our claim to fame are Jim Brown and the Kardiac Kids (80's against Elways if you want to look it up). We embrace entertaining football with gusto here, win or lose. It's why the city was half pissed they let Flacco walk. We knew what he was. He was exciting with a low ceiling. But he entertaining as hell to watch. You guys need to figure your fucking secondary out. Winston was off the bench this game. If your secondary plays the same way next we meet? There is a good chance Winston is going to pick on you. And I want to say run the ball more because Henry is one of the only backs to get better on his later reps... but we seemed to have a decent beat on him. Shut him down entirely last year against Tenn.

Winston was good and the Browns defense was good as usual. And yes the Ravens pass defense is not great by any means. However, even said all that, if Kyle Hamilton had caught that interception which he'd make in every other game he'd ever play in and so despite all of these things the Browns were a whisper from losing. So with all the flaws the Ravens may have the Browns were incredibly lucky to win. That doesn't bode well for them against other competitive teams.
