This is more of an NBC decision and not an NFL decision. Cable is dying and these companies are just now pivoting to the streaming model. Don’t be surprised if the next CBA does a deal with HBO Max, Netflix, etc. I wonder how many people don’t have cable but still got a Paramount+ subscription just for the Super Bowl? I was one of them.

NFL basically following the commercialisation of European Soccer - won't be long until every major game will be on a pay per view basis, different subscription channels having a set amount of games, and almost nothing on free to view. To watch every game of my soccer club in Scotland live, I need a season ticket for home games, Sky subscription for away games, TNT subscription for European Cup games and a Premier Sports subscription for domestic cup games. It's insane, sucks and it's clearly coming to the US now with the Peacock games just the beginning!!

Funny tidbit: Corinthians, the home team of the arena the NFL game will be played in, have a kind of unoffical "ban" on the colour green because it's the colour of their fierce rivals Palmeiras. I guess they'll have to lift that "ban" for the game as both the Packers and Eagles use that colour ;)

The team that owns the stadium (Corinthians) hates green since its the color of its main rival (Palmeiras)

It´s not about Brazil (the country) being against green, but NeoQuimica Arena is home of the Corinthians soccer team which bears black and white as their colors and their main rivalry is with the Palmeiras soccer team (that is also from São Paulo) which bears the green color, that's why green color is not welcome by the stadium owner team, but that shouldn't be an issue for the NFL game, but if the Eagles want to get on the good graces of the local home team, they could use their black jersey.

2:33 Rich, I love you but you're wrong. Our biggest loss between 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 was Aaron Rodgers. And for as great as Aaron Rodgers was for a long time, was no longer prime Aaron Rodgers. It was much closer to the Aaron Rodgers we had in 2008 where he was good but hadn't hit the stride he'd have between 2009 and 2021. We didn't come out of nowhere. To be more technically accurate, the anti-trust exemption prohibits the NFL from broadcasting any game on a Friday played within 75 miles of a high school football game during the regular season (the same rule applies to college football games on Saturday during the regular college season). Theoretically, they could play every friday in the fall -- but they wouldn't be able to broadcast it on TV in most cases.
