Love when Rich is on! 🏆💗 Cool to see you doing bareback exercises. They should be EVERY equestrian's/beginning rider's basic training - it helps in seat/balance & confidence so much more that many realize. My instructor even had me lunging over cross/low rails with my eyes closed AND no stirrups so I got out of anticipating the fence, thus relaying stress to the horse. IT WORKS, DO MORE! Great video, Meg! I love that you committed to doing a bareback dressage lesson, it is definitely not easy. Your lower leg barely moved though, very impressive! ❤💚 (hope your body was okay the day after, ouch!) Seeing you ride bareback reminds me of the days when I was learning to ride. I actually wasn't allowed a saddle or reins at all when I was starting to learn, I was on a lunge line with a bareback pad for months til I was given a saddle, and then I wasn't even allowed reins or stirrups. Finally when I was allowed to have reins and stirrups, I had a foundation of riding with my core and my legs for so long that I barely even needed the reins or stirrups. To this day, people keep saying my hands are nice and quiet with the reins when riding, all thanks to my riding teacher. Glad you're still going back to bareback for some lessons as well, and Wilma did such a good job being sweet and patient. 🥰
