Rich Wilkerson Jr. - Hebrews: Superiority Complex

As with anything in life, our faith will be challenged. When doubts come our way, we can either set our eyes on Jesus or return to our old crutches.
Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. shares the message “Superiority Complex” a kick off to the "Not Going Back” collection of talks centered on the Book of Hebrews.
We all have a slight superiority complex. It shows up when we don’t recognize God as greater than other influences in our lives. When we don’t place God first. The problem with that is, if we don’t place him in the right order, our lives will be out of order.
To set God first, we must hear his voice, see his example, and be pleasing him. These tasks can seem overwhelming, but we should remember our faith is quite simple. Everything begins and ends with Jesus.
By listening to Jesus’ words, looking to how Jesus led his life, and loving Jesus we confirm there’s nothing that can replace God being superior in our lives. Once we get our priorities right there’s no going back to lesser, unsatisfying distractions. Jesus is all we need.

Talk about not putting your faith in people, but in Jesus. The root of bitterness comes from expectations, and when you have expectations for other people your setting yourself up to be let down. That's why when your going through something, putting your faith first in Jesus rather than someone else, you will never be let down. Thank you Pastor Rich!

Last week God lead me to study Hebrews because my faith had been yo yoin’- I listened to it first as I was going to bed and I remember just jumping up because I was being seriously being challenged and my attitude was being checked! To see that this is what you are studying this at Vous seriously excites me- it shows me that God is saying that there is no time to go back to our old ways! Thank you for your obedience to God, this message was hugely encouraging :)

Around a year ago, I asked the Lord to teach me to love like He loves and be more like Him. Back then I was judgemental, I walked in a lot of unforgiveness, shame, bitterness, self-pity, self-hatred, selfishness, regret, anger (what a mix, huh?), but God got through to me and here I am, I love as Jesus loves, I'm full of compassion, I strive and do my best to be kind, I look to Jesus and the Father and I open my heart for God and all of God's creation, I have let go of all my bitterness, shame, unforgiveness, self-pity, self-hatred, selfishness, regret and anything that kept me down and away from God. The Lord has grown me so much for the last one year and I never want to go back to my old ways, and if I ever look back, it will be just to remember what God has done and share my testimony and inspire others and bring others to our Father and our Savior! I love the Lord with all my heart and soul and He is my everything, He changed my life when He came to me and I know I didn't deserve it, but His grace is sufficient and His love is abundant, His compassion is boundless and He's faithful more than words can describe or express. He is perfect and He has my heart 💜✝❣ If you feel lost, you're not alone, I've been there too, but there's a Good Shepherd that saves lost sheep, if you don't know what I'm talking about, you can look up Luke 15 and you'll know. Don't lose hope, don't lose faith and don't give up, fix your eyes on the Lord. Trust me, the Father stands with arms wide open and stretched out and a warm smile on His face for you, and He's calling you closer to Him, His heart is beckoning, He's wide open for you. Just talk to Him, ask Him to teach you to love like Him and help you do what's right, ask Him for His protection and guidance and surrender everything and yourself to Him, open your heart wide openly in love for the Lord and all His creation and tell God to have His ways in you. Sure, He works in His timing, but trust me that when an artist takes His time to paint, He's making a masterpiece. 🙂😉🙏💜✝💜✌🌼 Also, I can relate to pastor Rich's story about his friend's mom, my grandma is very ill and I know God wants to save her and I know He will, I just pray that she will give up her stubbornness and resistance and open her heart up to God and I pray that God will send the devil back to hell where he belongs and shut his ugly mouth so that he won't lie anymore. But it makes me realize, that life is so short and this earth is not our forever home, we're just pilgrims here and we've got no time to waste, you never know if today is gonna be your last day, that's one of the reasons why God wants us to surrender to Him, because when we surrender to Him, He can protect us and He can save us. I don't know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future and I know who holds MY future, I've surrendered myself to The One True God who is a loving Father and the most trustworthy Friend that someone could ever ask for or have. Jesus paid the highest price for us - His life. And all He's asking is that we surrender to Him and Father God and that we put our trust in Them because when we do, They'll protect us, They'll be able to do good things for, in and through us and They'll be able to save us. P.S. Please join me in prayer for my grandma's salvation.
