Life in the UK means u have a life licence so u are always monitored by probation. Then the judge will give u a recommended to serve which can range from 12 to whole life which means forever. For a murder with bare hands from 15-20 years for a knife from 15_25 and with a gun your looking at 30 to 40 but then mitigating circumstances I.e your age, can bring them sentences down. And aggravated features can take it up
