These characters had a role,a place,and faith. They gained something more and that is love. Without love Thorin,Gisborne,Lucas,John,and many more that Richard Armitage played wouldn't be the same. It is love that changed their lives and stories forever.

You know to be honest sometimes I feel this sadness for the characters that Richard Armitage plays because their lives are so broken and sad that I feel like wrapping my arm around them and saying it's ok don't 😢 I'm here for you

I agree so much. He often plays damaged, broken and hurting characters. That's why Season 9 of Spooks (or M1-5 if you're in the States) upset so many people. Lucas was a broken and hurting person with major trauma, but he was a hero. He went out of his way to protect the innocent and help people, even if he was desperate for love and tended to jump into ill judged relationships. They did a total hatchet job on his character with the season finale, then gave him the worst and most ignoninious death in the series.
