Richard Cook’s paintings emerge from drawings and sketches he makes while out walking along the Cornish coastline near his home in Newlyn.
In this film he takes us through his process and shows us how closely he lives with works in progress, returning to them over and over again until he is satisfied.

Even if I am not the greatest admirers of the work, interviews like these provide so much knowledge and wisdom to learn from. I truly cannot get enough.

😌🙏 I so relate to that feeling when a painting is completed and your mind is at peace for a moment because you've gotten it all out on the canvas. Then, life continues and the next painting begins building and building until it, too, must be expelled and laid out onto a surface.

This is a beautiful short film showing Richard working intimately with the Cornish coast through observation and memory. Remarkable poetic work.

One can find themselves exhaling a lot around paintings like those. Make sure I get this correct, he finger paints everything?

@@heraldeventsandfilms5970 I am an artist and I've shown this to a few artists and they all agree this is terrible art and on par with Tracey Emin's pretentious work . Weak composition, no contrast in values, zero colour harmony, chalky etc etc. It's all rubbish but if he can convince rich people to hand over their money good for him

@@heraldeventsandfilms5970 I am a full time artist. Trust me bs is used in this industry to make the buyer think they haver got something very unique and special. The buyer is usually rich so money isn't the issue, they want it to have meaning. So what do you do Herald?
