Corben also did cover art for books that featured John Carter of Mars, as well as The Stainless Steel Rat, and the Death World. He was one of the most prolific artists of our times ! He will be missed !

All those were for the dust covers for Doublday's subscription based Science Fiction Book Club most of which are pretty worthless on the second hand market Ebay etc except for Corben's which are still very desirable (but that dust cover better be in pretty good shape!)...

Recently caved and bought a copy of Flights Into Fantasy for $100. Haven't checked it out yet, but look forward to it. I hope to get back into airbrushing after a long hiatus. His technique always fascinated me with its bizarre realism and detail mixed with a weird gothic/sci-fi vibe. Only recently did I rediscover his art and make the connection, that his peculiar photorealism sometimes reminded me of something else, which is Maxfield Parrish's illustrations that evoked the same photorealism with intense color saturation.
