Thing about Dawkins is that he's a geneticist, so he cares very much about genes. But morality is a much simpler aspect of evolution. I learn from pain, which makes me not make the same mistake twice. My empathy allows me to learn from your mistake, which allows me to not make the same mistake once. When my empathy recognizes your empathy, we have formed a moral union and our abilities multiply exponentially. Not only does morality not require lists of rules, it doesn't require language. In fact, I believe that language is a hindrance to morality because it generates noise. It has other benefits, but if morality was the only thing of value, then I think language would be a bad idea.

The Roman Naturalist Pliny the Elder wrote [AD 77 “Africa produces elephants, but it is in India where it produces the largest, as well as the Dragon - Dinosaur, who is perpetually at war with the elephant and is itself so enormous a size as easily to envelope the elephants with its folds, and encircles them in its coils. The contest is equally fatal to both: the elephant vanquished falls to the earth, and by its weight crushes the dragon which is entwined around it” Pliny’s Natural History Book Volume 111, Chap 9 translated by J. Bostock and H.T. Riley; Bohn. [London, England: 1855] Flavius Philostratus in 3rd century AD wrote: “The whole of India is girt with dragons-dinosaurs of enormous size; for not only the marshes are full of them, but the mountains as well and there is not a single ridge without one. Now the marsh kind, are sluggish in their habits [movements] and are thirty cubits long [43.75 feet] and they have no crest standing upon their heads.” Thus by this statement he is saying clearly that crest headed dinosaurs existed when he was alive!

Anonymous comment from a modern day biologist He said, I had written a good post, here is an answer from an anonymous biologist asked about his belief in evolution. “To be a molecular biologist requires one to hold onto two insanities at all times. One, it would be insane to believe in evolution when you can see the truth for yourself. Two, it would be insane to say you don't believe evolution. All government work, research grants, papers, big college lectures-everything would stop. I'd be out of a job, or relegated to the outer fringes where I couldn't earn a decent living.

Darwin's words: "I can indeed hardly see how anyone ought to wish Christianity to be true; for if so, the plain language of the text seems to show that men who do not believe, and this would include my Father, brother and almost all my best friends, will be everlastingly punished, And that is a damnable doctrine." I do not want to abide in Darwin and his words, his mantra was: "Survival of the Fittest" these words are earthly, sensual, devilish and hell is behind it. There is no hope in Darwinian Evolutionary Religion only death and destruction. Those who preach evolution as a fact of science are irresponsible; as they promote immoral behaviour by the back door. There will eventually be curfews in towns and cities; this is the beginning of sorrows, but it will all end in tears at Armageddon. On the very day of this battle; the Lord Jesus Christ will descend from heaven in order to stop man; destroying himself through selfishness and greed. Jesus will settle his account with mankind, having destroyed the Antichrist and his kingdom. Jesus said, that lightning would flash across the sky from the east unto the west on the day when the Son of man is revealed I willingly abide in Jesus and his words, "Let him who hath ears to hear, let him hear" this was his mantra very often while teaching the people. Jesus made this statement because he knew that the majority were dull of hearing! Jesus warned men about speaking idle words, indicating he never spoke an idle word. Jesus said, love God with all of your heart, mind, soul, spirit and strength and love your neighbour as yourself. What an excellent moral recipe! That sounds about right to me, words of spirit and life. This is good doctrine, sound doctrine, flawless doctrine, sober doctrine etc. If the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a damnable doctrine as Darwin asserts; then where does that leave "The Origin of Species and Preservation of Favoured Races?" Kind Regards

Anyone who teaches others how to pray and not in the way that is taught to us by Jesus, is anti-Jesus… “Take care that no one misleads you: For many will come claiming my name…” - (Matthew 24: 4) - “Many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many; and as lawlessness spreads, men’s love for one another will grow cold. But the man who holds out to the end will be saved” - (Matthew 24: 11-13) - “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” - (John 4: 24) - “When you pray, go into a room by yourself, and shut the door. Pray to your Father who is there in the secret place; and your Father who sees what is secret will reward you. In your prayers do not go babbling on like the heathen, who imagine that the more they say the more likely they are to be heard. Do not imitate them. Your Father knows what your needs are before you ask him. This is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, Your kingdom come; your will be done, on earth as in heaven, Give us today our daily bread, And forgive us the wrong we have done, as we have forgiven those who have wronged us. And do not bring us to the test, but save us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, for ever. Amen. For if you forgive others the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive others, then the wrongs you have done will not be forgiven by your Father.” - (Matthew 6: 6-15) - “Truly I tell you; if anyone obeys my teaching he shall never know what it is to die.” - (John 8: 51) - “Pass no judgement, and you will not be judged. For as you judge others, so you will yourselves be judged, and whatever measure you deal out to others will be dealt back to you.” - (Matthew 7: 1-2) - “Always treat others as you would like them to treat you: that is the Law and the Prophets. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.” - (Matthew 7: 12-14) - “I am the gate; anyone who comes into the fold through me shall be safe.” - (John 10: 9) - “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” - (Matthew 7: 21) - “I am the resurrection and I am life. If a man has faith in me, even though he dies, he shall come to life; and no one who is alive and has faith shall ever die.” - (John 11: 25-26) - “I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world” - (John 12: 47) - “Whoever then will acknowledge me before men, I will acknowledge him before my Father in heaven; and whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.” - (Matthew 10: 32-34) - “I am the way; I am the truth and I am life; no one comes to the Father except by me. If you knew me you would know my Father too.” - (John 14: 6-7) - “The disciples came to Jesus and asked, ‘Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven?’ He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. If anyone causes one of these little ones-those who believe in me-to stumble, It would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!’” - (Matthew 18: 1-7) - “Where two or three gather in my name, I am there among them” - (Matthew 18: 20) - “Many are called, but few are chosen,” - (Matthew 22: 14) - “An expert in the law, [a leading religious Pharisee] tested him with this question: ‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind. That is the greatest commandment. It comes first. The second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. Everything in the Law and the Prophets hangs on these two commandments.’” - (Matthew 22: 35-40) - “There is no greater love than this, that a man should lay down his life for his friends.” - (John 15: 13) - “Do not call any man on earth ‘father’; for you have one Father and he is in heaven. Nor must you be called ‘teacher’; you have one Teacher, the Messiah.” - (Matthew 23: 9-10) - "Stay awake, and pray that you may be spared the test. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." - (Matthew 26: 41) - “And be assured, I am with you always, to the end of time.” - (Matthew 28: 20) - “One of the criminals who hung there also mocked and taunted him: ‘Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself, and us!’ But the other criminal rebuked him. ‘Have you no fear of God? You are under the same sentence as he. For us it is plain justice; we are paying the price for our misdeeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.’ And he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’ He answered, “I tell you this: today you shall be with me in Paradise.’” - (Luke 23: 39-43) - “For it is my Father’s will that everyone who looks upon the Son and puts his faith in him shall possess eternal life; and I will raise him up on the last day” - (John 6: 40) - Yours always, in true Spirit and in prayer, 2gointruth, Tuesday the 14th of August, 2018: - (Matthew 5:14-16) - Every minute, hour and day can be a new beginning for any one of us: Here are some more references to study further… - (Genesis 3: 24) - (Genesis 6: 5-6) - (Genesis 6: 11) - (Genesis 8: 21) - (Exodus 12: 17) - - (Exodus 25: 18-22) - (Leviticus 19: 18) - (Leviticus 26: 11-12) - (Deuteronomy 8: 3-4) - - (Deuteronomy 18: 18) - (Deuteronomy 29: 29) - (Joshua 22: 5) - (2 Samuel 6: 2) - - (2 Samuel 7: 12-14) - (Psalm 2: 2) - (Psalm 10: 3-7) - (Psalm 14: 1) - (Psalm 15) - - (Psalm 22) - (Psalm 66: 1) - (Proverbs 8: 17) - (Proverbs 15: 7-8) - (Isaiah 7: 14) - - (Isaiah 9: 6-7) - (Isaiah 52: 13) - (Isaiah 53) - (Isaiah 61: 1) - (Jeremiah 31: 31-34) - - (Jeremiah 47: 6-7) - (Ezekiel 28: 14-16 ) - (Daniel 7: 13-14) - (Micah 5: 4) - - (Micah 7: 6) - (Zephaniah 1: 7) - (Zechariah 9: 9) - (Zechariah 12: 10) - - (Also worth noting, are Aristotle, Confucius, Plato and Socrates, even Gandhi a humble man qualified in British Law and well-read in most all scriptures; he has also said; “You must be the change that you wish to see in the world.”) - - (Matthew 4: 19) - (Matthew 5: 10-12) - (Matthew 5:17) - (Matthew 5:19-20) - - (Matthew 5: 43-48) - (Matthew 6: 2-4) - (Matthew 7: 5) - (Matthew 7: 7-11) - - (Matthew 7: 24-27) - (Matthew 10: 32-34) - (Matthew 11: 28-30) - (Matthew 12: 30-37) - - (Matthew 23: 9-10) - (Mark 1: 9-11) - (Mark 9: 50) - (Mark 15: 4-5) - (((Luke 1: 1-4))) - - (Luke 4: 1-13) - (Luke 6: 22-36) - (Luke 6: 39) - (Luke 6: 46-49) - (Luke 9: 23-26) - - (Luke 12: 40) - (Luke 12: 48) - (John 3: 1-7) - (John 6: 51) - (John 6: 53-58) - - (John 7: 16-18) - (John 8: 12) - (John 8: 32) - (John 8: 34-35) - (John 8: 58) - - (John 10: 10-11) - (John 10: 14-17) - (John 11: 25-26) - (John 12: 25-26) - - (John 12: 44-50) - (John 13: 20) - (John 13: 34) - (John 17: 24-26) - (((John 21: 24-25))) -

God loves genocide. Genesis 6-8, Genesis 18-19, Exodus 11-12, Numbers 21:2-3, Deuteronomy 20:17, Joshua 6:17-21, and FINALLY 1 Samuel 15 all tell us what a loving god he is. Mass murder is his pastime. Men, women, and children all. Matter of fact, he makes explicit points of killing children in Psalm 137! "Happy is he who repays what you have done to us/ He who seizes YOUR INFANTS AND DASHES THEM AGAINST THE ROCKS." To be clear, I don't think that was a metaphor. That was an absolute statement of "kill all the little children." That isnt the end of killing children, though. Turn to Genesis 22 for Abraham being directed to sacrifice Isaac. Sure, he didn't go through with it (only because God stopped him.) Fear not, if we look ahead to Judges 11:30-1, 34-5 then a daughter of a believer is sacrificed to God and they go through with it. Fortunately, she was a girl. Females are lesser in the eyes of Christians, so the blow is reduced a little. Briefly we take a peek at 1 Timothy 2:12 where it starts to color the fact of biblical female inferiority. To help color in the picture, Judges 19:25-28 says if we're being chased by a mob, throw the concubine to them and they'll leave you alone to rape her. If you're looking for package deals, there are murder/pillage/rape orders in Numbers 31:7-18, Deuteronomy 20:10-14, and Samuel 12:11-14. I could have morality all wrong, but God's law seems like it has a few flaws. Man's law may not be perfect, but at least it let's me eat shellfish while wearing a cotton/polyester blend and NOT condemning me to death by rocks. Keep believing your bible is truth and I'll keep telling you why that's bad for humanity.

The biggest misconception about evolution is that people don't know it's nonsense. Everything is what it is because of the Word that made it what it is. The logic of the Word exists independent of us knowing about His truth. Observation and logic prove that you were made to exist by a preexisting written set of directives that did not write themselves or by any other natural physical means of being specifically sequenced to work. It is known and understood that no physical thing made any directed working part of you. There is simply zero evidence of mindless things making your mind. All of the evidence is of the intent of a Word/Maker. There is no other evidence of any other thing.

+Jungle Jargon scientists have been testing and proving our understanding of the world for a long long time now. religion has never managed to explain any of their theories when put under scrutiny. the fact of the matter is that people like you are impossible to convince othervise because you are either too dumb or too ignorant. you're own ego simply will not accept that you have been wrong all this time about something this fundemental. you are trapped inside your own psychology of not wanting to be wrong about something, so you stubbornly hold your ground The day you die you will not be transported to heaven or hell. your god will not greet you at any gates up in the clouds. you will not see or feel your passed relatives. you will simply pass from consciousness into blackness. what is you will simply cease to be. there will be no more YOU as you think of it, because infact your thinking will cease. why is this so hard to both understand, and more importantly, ACCEPT?

Why does everyone just accept the Darwinian evolution is non-random simply because one aspect of it is not random? What is being selected is random genetic changes.
@biozak1000
@biozak1000 9 жыл бұрын
+Simon Reye think of it this way, it is random, for some creature in 30 generations with a simple doubling of the population every generation you get about a billion times as many creatures as you had in the start. however about 99.99% of those die/have died, those who do not are (on average) the ones whose DNA was better suited for survival
@snoopster77
@snoopster77 9 жыл бұрын
+biozak1000 Yes, you've just explained the non-random part of Neo-Darwinism, that being natural selection. But Dawkins argument was that the beautiful design in nature could not have possibly come about by chance yet a fish's ability to swim, a mole's ability to dig, a gibbon's ability to swing through the trees is all down to DNA, something that changes randomly. In your above example, after 30 generations and millions upon millions of creatures with perhaps as many slight changes to their DNA, those that survive will be those whose DNA was best suited for survival. But that does not mean the changes in the DNA have been slight improvements. It could be that the surviving DNA carriers are the ones whose DNA has deformed them the least. It could be that the great, great, great ... grandfather was far superior and would have thrived far above and beyond the current generation. Hardly a process that produces in the words of Dawkins animals that are so beautifully well designed. It seems one must now show how random DNA mutations can produce beautifully well designed animals and plants.
@kdemetter

+Simon Reye If I told you to flip a 1000 seperate coins, then discard the heads and keep flipping coins with the tails and you do this 5 times, you will very likely end up with at least one coin that flipped 5 tails in a row. However, If you would just try to flip a single coin 5x in a row, it would be unlikely for it to flip tails 5x in a row. By having a non-random selection step, the result is a lot less random then if it's was just chance. Evolution works in much the same way : you have random mutation, followed by non-random selection.
@snoopster77
@snoopster77 9 жыл бұрын
+K. De Metter Yes, non-random natural selection does make it less random than if all random mutations had equal chance of survival. But as you admitted yourself this non-random step makes the result less random, not non-random.
@kdemetter
@kdemetter 9 жыл бұрын
Simon Reye It might be more correct to say that mutation introduces randomness, and that natural selection in turn limits this randomness by killing off those mutations which can't survive/reproduce. So basically you would end up with a window of possible mutations which can survive. The stronger the selecting force, the narrower the window.
