valid point's! Don't get me wrong I realise that boundaries are being pushed and he definitely does that, perhaps it will grow on me! I've just seen picture's of his latest modular set up and judging by the amount of time it must have taken to set it all up speaks volumes in itself, he definitely puts the effort in!

I think it's more of something to be engulfed in. If I were to push my pretentious boundaries, I'd say it's more of an experience than something you listen to and think, "Wow, that was great and will be stuck in my head all day." It's more about the sound design than the actual track, I think.

Love this kind of music. Have to say this track is lacking in the emotion department.

Music that expresses the emptiness of death need not be emotional.

idk about you, but I hear a ton of rhythm. And there is melody too if you listen hard. It's like listening to nature. It's beautiful, it's rhythmic, but not particularilly musical (in the traditional sense)

Hah . There is a vocal at around 3:15 or 3:45 among the other 2013 sounds in this song . Richard is actually using cutting edge technology to create interesting music and I wish we had 200 more like him .

I think it's a bit of familiarity. Not to say that voices can't sound nice, but I know there's a resistance to things that are unfamiliar to many, at least for awhile. Not to say that one is better than the other either. I've personally been getting into Grimes and Purity Ring a little lately and the way voice is used by both of them makes for a nice experience.

Well... I remember this walking down the street. It's not pointless if somebody enjoys this. Where's melody?, there's melody. Where's rhythm? there's more rhythm than anything. But yeah, you should stop listening to what you don't enjoy.

i don t understand a music that is so cold and so much technologically and MONEY depend..what about if i don t have all that money and all the time to learn all these machines ??? i m not a good musician ha ?And to be honest after 30 years of electronic dance or not ..music i think it repeats it self..thats why all these guys wait until the next synth or plugin or whatever comes out because in that they search the "new.." thing ..and now we return to the word MONEY ..but i think the time will fade out all this fashion..thing (at that times there will be 50core computers ..new synths and plugins and these will be old like 60s rock and roll !!! lol)

I think the point of something like this is to do something new, remember this came out over 13 years ago. I don't think this repeats anything.
@anatol12046 жыл бұрын
new doesn t always mean better..look for example in the fine arts ,same madness for the "new" and the books of modern art are fool of worthless paints (works of art ) that they call it avangard..They have tried also to make this work in classic music and in electroacoustic ..so tell me now (after the fiber..) who is buying those records..??? the answer is very very very few and that means something ,it means that it didnt touch the hearts..only -some- minds..
@bantenvanleer94154 жыл бұрын
LOL, Devine, AE, AFX and BOC and the likes are always just sitting around waiting for the "new thing" in plugins and in it for the MONEY Lol
@anatol12044 жыл бұрын
@@bantenvanleer9415the problem is not the pluggins but what you do with them.Most people people think that the pluggins will write the music for them..
@bantenvanleer94154 жыл бұрын
Ok fair enough, I thought your reaction was specifically directed at Richard Devine, who painstakingly crafts his audio especially in earlier sample-laden compositions.
@danhat60612 жыл бұрын
What happened to melody? Rhythm? I don't deny that this is great but, who is ever going to sing this/remember this? It just seems really pointless, maybe I should stop listening to it.....
@hisvorpalsword8 жыл бұрын
people listen to this?
@Xyrofen8 жыл бұрын
Yes. Look at in the context of sound design and organization. That's where I started. Richard Devine is a lot more about the sounds than the overall idea of it being a track, in my opinion.
