Dick Powell stars as our famous whistling shamus, Richard Diamond, Private Detective. John Alastair has arranged his own murder, but now he wants to stop it! Can Diamond find John's unknown killer? An especially entertaining episode of this series, also starring Virginia Gregg as the flower lady, Ted de Corsia as John Alastair, and Tony Barrett as Julio Basardi.

A great detective mystery dramatization featuring our hero, Richard Diamond, played by Dick Powell. This was an excellent episode and series. This channel, by Tsnore, is one of my three "top" KZbin channels - good programs, a wide variety of entertainment, and extremely excellent audio for listening.

I listen to a lot of old time radio shows and Dick Powell is the only actor that can make my son burst out laughing. My son has grown up hearing these shows by being in my vicinity, but he finds many of them too old-fashioned. All except for Richard Diamond.

A young man who has good concept of theater, he will go far in this imagination, the fact is most today are still on the quarter note.

Love the old Camel and Lucky Strike commercials. So many products had those catchy little jingles, whether you liked their product or not you would sing or hum along with the tune. Good Stuff. Thanks for posting and sharing this Dick Powell classic radio program.

@@RebelRob34 Isn't that the kind of cancer Dick died from? Only it wasn't the smokes that did it. He was the director/producer for the notorious movie for John Wayne and Agnes Moorhead. He just happened to be another death attributed to it.

Years ago I had the great honor of working with Blake Edwards, on a musical that was to be a follow up to Victor Victoria. I told him how much me and my wife enjoyed the Richard Diamond shows, and he was shocked to find out that they were out there on the Internet! So I put all the episodes I could find, quite a large number, onto a DVD ROM and gave them to him. I was a little bit afraid he’d be upset about the copyright infringement! (Truth be told, he had great stories about the shows, and while he was quite young when he wrote and directed these, and not all that powerful, and thus things didn’t always go his way, he still prized all of the copies he had of the scripts.) When he came in the next day, he hadn’t slept at all! He’d listened to 12 of the episodes or so. He was very emotional, which wasn’t common for him, and he said that they were better than he remembered them to be. I was thrilled to have a chance to connect him with his old material.

He had at least a full year of no song shows. Or the one who taped them cut them out.
