This is my most anticipated game of the year. So glad I can get an MTG experience without selling my kidney on the black market. I’ve only got one left.

Great interview. RG comes across as a real genuine guy, with a pragmatic and realistic approach to trying to make his game dreams come true. Very cool. I see 6 dislikes...can we turn them into Æmber and Forge a Key?

I know other people have already said this, but this is a legitimately good interview. It was honestly refreshing to see someone asking relevant and interesting questions, not the usual Puff questions.

I think deck building is fun, but not only am I not that great at it, it just costs so much money to get the most effective cards. I love how Richard talked about how those who love deck construction might not be into this game as much but that others who just couldn't get into that due to various reasons might try this. I'm honestly really excited to try this game out. I already plan on getting 4 decks and trying to get my roommates into it so we can do casual play.

Love the concept of this game. Hyped through the roof. I love Magic, but love the idea of this because it keeps netdecking of of the game.

Also I think that the algorithm would make the cards progressively better

Keyforge is hands down my most anticipated game of the year, so I was stoked to see you had posted an interview with the man himself, Richard Garfield. Great interview, keep up the good work.

Agree with everyone else - great interview with relevant questions. If you are in to MTG, give this game a shot. The feeling I get from playing is kind of like jumping directly into a midrange MTG deck build. It is very satisfying and I was surprised by how enjoyable it was. Online play is highly anticipated - think of being able to play your deck from your phone or on your pc - great potential - great value.

Absolutely brilliant thank you! I, like many others, cant wait to try this out! Ive played a few TCG/LCG/CCG's but what I hate about them is building the right deck out of hundreds of cards. Im a casual gamer who just wants to pick up and play, i was always criticised for my TCG decks as they weren't the best card combo's, this is the answer to that so THANK YOU!

Holy cow, our boy Garfield likes to have FUN! too. I feel sad that his mention of DF will go unappreciated by most. It truly is the ultimate generated game in my opinion.
@zioncommand6 жыл бұрын
This game will capture the very essence of deck ownership. Whatever deck or decks you buy... are yours and only yours...unless you sell them off to someone else. But no worries about "the meta" or "netdecking". You will not come across any mirror matches which makes this game free of "formats." Elitists will sit back and criticize the game because it will restrict creativity... but only because they want to create the most overpowered decks and to be able to make value off of individual cards so others can pay to build the same overpowered decks.

Huh, never heard of Treasure Hunter before. Since I'm annoyed by 7 Wonders, I'll check that out.

deck building is fun and all, but also pointless when almost everyone copies their deck from someone else

Woah I just realized if you lose or break a card you're screwed haha. well maybe you can order a replacement card with your Master Card
@zioncommand6 жыл бұрын
True. But imagine getting your 100 dollar card accidentally washed... this game is only a tenth of that ONE CARD. I honestly cannot wait for this.
@nikokahlo6 жыл бұрын
is it a deck-trading game?
@azurewhitemusic95655 жыл бұрын
Pretty much. You can't trade individual cards, so you would only be able to trade/buy/sell full decks.

Didn’t buy anything from the first set however I maybe wind up getting a few of those deck. I started with the second set and bought a starter and two more decks and now this is easily one of my favorite games. All the fund of a CCG with the CCG elements.

I agree with him about the rogue likes like, Dwarf fortress, Brogue, or Rimworld, random generated worlds and permadeath are great fun. Welcome to the jungle, this is also what attracts me to Keyforge. It is great to hear a game designer who still is working towards this type of game play. My fear is this game may not get a good following, since it is designed to be played in game shops competitively, and a lot of game shops make their money on resale of singles in CCG's like Magic, which this type of card game threatens. So I fear that game shops will not promote Keyforge because it may eat into their profits from single card sales. I am already seeing this with the game stores around me and the prerelease events on Nov 10th. None of them are running prerelease events, and have expressed lack of interest in promoting the game at all.

It's an fun game but I don't like the idea of not being able to combine cards from other decks so cheap sure for a deck but if you want or need multiple copies of serton cards your screwed unless you buy that many decks.the I do like the ravnica feel of the houses in the game but game play is slow.I don't think I'm going to be collecting this game I prefer to be able to build my decks without any restrictions like you have to only use the cards frome the same deck leaves no creativity for the player to use their own ideas for different decks so I give it an 3 out of 10 to basic for real rpg card player's it would be good for children or new people to the rpg card games
