Richard Goode on Schumann's "Kreisleriana"

I humbly do not agree that the symbol of a bad violin or a mad violinist relates to the first piece at all. It sounds like Johannes Kreisler the Kapellmeister (composer/conductor) is transformed into (Fritz) Kreisler the violinist by the words of Mr. Goode.

Actually they had an on off relationship... chopin often played to schumann in his youth, and warmly took his praise.

+Cathy Permut there's a quote by schumann saying he heard chopins first ballade in private performance, and said it was his favourite chopin piece. chopin replied it was his also
