@scottcrawford37452 жыл бұрын
@@gewglesux No worries. I love my 570S Spider. At high revs she sounds like an F1 car. They are amazing cars, and they are very under-rated by the manufacturer for the speed/ times. They claim 3.1 seconds 0-60, but it's a lot closer to 2.8 seconds, and they are absolutely in the 10.2-10.5 second bracket for the quarter-mile. I'm getting mine tuned and mapped next year, for an additional ~100 horsepower on 94 octane fuel, should shave off an extra tenth or 2 off the 0-60.
@gewglesux2 жыл бұрын
@@scottcrawford3745 Will tuning and mapping really yield such results?
@scottcrawford37452 жыл бұрын
@@gewglesux It really depends on the car... McLaren's lower models are basically detuned versions of the higher cars. Many manufacturers are putting out cars at their maximum rating, so the only way to add power is higher grade fuel, and then modding ( bigger turbos/ supercharging/ ECM units etc). The stated power for my 570S is 562hp, but many dyno from stock into the 600hp and up range. Then when they map and tune it, tweak the turbos a bit, timing, etc., the results are up to 10-20% gain. Which is back up to the top rating for this powerplant . ( The same 3.8L engine was used in several cars from the 540C up to the 620 R, I believe...with HP ratings from 533-612 hp. ) My 2018 Jag F-Type SVR convertible is quoted as having a 575hp supercharged V8, but on the Dyno, She output 603hp stock with 91 octane fuel. After her warranty expires, I'll get her tuned and mapped too.

@@lightningwithin9186 by your logic a car is only appealing if it is the fastest in a straigh line which the Nivera is. That's not something the majority of people who have owned and driven any these cars would say because there is much more to the experience of driving than just going in a straight line. That's why the people who can actually afford these cars don't just own Rimacs. Sound, handling, feedback, looks, all these things make cars special. Any real car person that actually drives cars know this. This is clearly lost upon you. Therfore it's obvious you probably haven't driven/owned any of these vehicles.

I must say, I really hope the show will last a bit longer than what we've had so far. Especially in these crazy woke times where we definitely need something normal, something we all know. Something like the 3 from the fuel station... Of course I mean May, Clarkson and Hammond. Actually I am writing this because I hope anyone from the team of TGT will read this because I have had an idea for a last hurra if you really going to cancel the show because of age as James May said in an interview I've read the last couple days. Not exactly said they will retire but he said they already though of stopping the show because of their age. Why not making a rather old school episode or show whatever you call it, but only in a upgraded version since you've got higher budgets. Why not making some sort of a triathlon but with cars or even with 3 different types of motorized vehicles. The first thing comes to my mind is of course normal roads, amphibious discipline and maybe off-road. You could make a car each for every discipline or one for all 3 disciplines?! You could also get together a motorbike and a train of some sort... I know it's a bit confusing but it might get a bit more clear when I tell you that you have, just like in the top gear days, build them yourselves. Well, as far built yourselves the amphibious cars were...or the camper train whatsoever... Thats what people are looking pretty much forward to, especially if you are really about to cancel for retirement. Give us that last hurra! I have to tell you I am somewhat over 30 years now and I never had the money to pay for a driving license, nor for a car or it's monthly or yearly insurance cost. But I always wanted to learn to drive, not necessarily on open roads but on a track or abandoned airfield like you drove on for so many times. So it was top gear UK, Top Gear US and of course The Grand Tour that made it possible for me to enjoy at least a bit of these things. Because a crazy trip through middle east, India or burma with cars or lorries that would absolutely be something I always wanted to do for at least one time. An own attempt for a an amphibious car I'd love as well. I'm telling you this because actually I am pretty sure I would absolutely show some talent with all that although I did only drive on time in my life, and it was for t minutes and a in Germany called "Feldweg" which somehow translates to "back road" or something? Literally it translates to "fieldway". And I absolutely adored it. But my chronic pain disorder makes me staying away from public road driving. But in a track where I could absolutely enjoy driving without worrying about people who are a bit...well people you can't trust basically, and I couldn't trust myself because of the painkillers. And don't get the wrong idea please I am still full of conscious, it's just that it's really hard painkillers that have been made to give their medicine slowly, so it's not making me stoned of some sort. It's just the rules in Germany and for a good reason, most painkillers are really making you unaware or unconsciously in a way that you have lowered attention etc. So if you ever again come across Germany and you're going to realise the idea of a triathlon special, where you for instance drive your own builds in different countries you could give me some opportunity to learn driving with the 3 of you and have a great day and fun on a track and I'll prove I'd be able to learn driving in a heartbeat and that I am really damn good at such things even that I've never done them before. It's simply because I do have an excellent (well, I don't know the right words for that so I am trying to describe it) feel for such things as cars, bikes or whatever could be used as a sort of extention to your body if you will. Like I'm having an excellent spatial perception (not sure if these are the words I've looked for). You have to excuse my english though, I've only learned it from translating song lyrics and watching Top gear UK and US. So it's a bit...daft, really. 😂 And forgive me the try to get a day with hammond may and Clarkson on a track. It's just always great fun to watch them do pointless stuff. Well, I wouldn't necessarily call "fun" pointless, but I think you'll get my point. Cheers and thanks for reading this...let's call it an attempting request or request with an attempt, whatever🤷🤣🤣
