I can remember doing a show with you on men and motor's where we tried three cars to drive to see which one i would buy, I wanted a tvr at the time. Sadly you couldn't find a tvr so it was your air-cooled Porsche 911 (Which I hit the camera man with, I thought I was in reverse but sadly I was in first) a Marcus, and a caterham 7. I did buy the tvr, but I should have bought the air-cooled Porsche 911 it would have been worth a fortune now.... opps 😔 also it was about 2002 not 1999 when you joined top gear, I can remember when talking to you on that day you were being considered and hopping to get the top gear job, I have been watching you ever since

Ahh, telly nostalgia, I remember Richard doing Men & Motors, it was entertaining stuff, at a time when Top Gear was the only car show on national TV, and quite staid too. Richard was in fact a pioneer, as the shows were clearly just him, and a bloke with a camcorder, shooting everything in an couple of hours, often in the rain... In fact, it was mostly similar 'content' to what is on KZbin today, bloke talking to his phone, but years before KZbin even existed! Richard mate, everyone is still copying you!

I also remember his review of a Kawasaki Drifter and his 2 part Oulton Park track day experience. All pivotal moments in making me a fan of his. When he secured the Top Gear job I was so excited for him, I knew he would be great. I used to watch old TG and Driven too so I knew of Clarkson and May as well, TG was just the best! Richard has always had a brilliant presenting style, and seeing him react to himself was so cute, he's not changed at all! I remember those shirts very well 😂. I hope to see a part 2 to this, including some old motorbike reviews please 😁

Had to go and track down the Feng Shui video and I see why Richard ended it where he did. Very entertaining video and so glad he got picked up by Top Gear, one of jeremy's better thought out decisions.

I think it needs the 3 of them together to roast each other’s early careers! Imagine the laughs there

I remember you reviewing an old motorbike that I owned, the Honda ST1100. I've got an ST1300 now and both were absolutely smashing bikes, and utterly indestructibly reliable.

Hammond (or actually any TV personality) was lucky that he started his career at a time before social media existed when viewers were not able to comment or sh** on the videos and thus accuracy of information was not as critical as today when all you need is for one viewer to point out an error for the whole world to turn against you

You have to give it to Richard, is presenting style has been consistent and just as funny then as he is now..... And he hasn't changed one bit, apart from his hairstyle 😂
