This podcast sounded like two mates shooting the breeze which I found very enjoyable. I have real affection for Jupitus and really can't understand his detractors. I would love to have been in the room at the time of recording for this one!

Jupitus has redeemed himself in my eyes, what a great episode of RHLSTP. He hasn't been a favourite of mine before but I find myself agreeing with most of of what he says and laughing at some of it. Thanks Richard.

Thank you Richard Herring for continuing to churn these brilliant podcasts out, always entertaining. Will finally make it down to one in June. Had tickets for the Eddie Izzard podcast but was too cunted to attend from the night before, oops.....

Just bought a ticket to see you in Winchester in April. I have no clue who you are but I think I should know who you are, I know your voice so I have heard you before definitely, so I thought the best way would be to go and see your show and see if I can remember where I know you from. You have also done a podcast with Luisa Omielan and I love her, so I shall now pop off and have a gander. I shall now work my way through all of these excellent podcasts over my Christmas break.

I never realised there was title controversy with ne remind the buzz cocks. for me it seemed obvious they were using the title of the band "buzzcocks" as a censor for the title of the album "never mind the bollocks" I've never understood bands who get precocious about having "the/not the" in their title anyway. it's like those people who shout at you for saying "it's not THE titanic, it's just titanic!" like anyone gives a shit

Phill Jupiter.................
@Spankabuttux9 жыл бұрын
If ever a comedian owed his career to favours and goodwill it's Phill Jupitus. I can picture the early days, he loves the scene in Edinburgh but isn't talented enough to create a funny 20 minutes so thinks "I know! Performance poet! That is vague enough so people don't realise I'm winging it!" Everyone involved in NMTB left for moral/professional reasons except him. He says the trick is not trying too hard- no mate, try harder; on 8 out of ten cats does countdown all the guests in Dictionary Corner gave us great stuff that they'd taken time over. Not Jupitus, 'just read out some shit, who cares'. Start giving a shit. Every time he's on QI his act is 'lean back and pretend to smoke a pipe while being sarcastic'. He needs to understand how lucky he is.
@Spankabuttux9 жыл бұрын
+Spankabuttux That seems so bitter, so I think I need to say I am not some disgruntled resentful comic, I'm just a bloke. Sat here. Resenting that twat sat there. Bastard!x
@AnonEyeMouse9 жыл бұрын
+Spankabuttux But... He is funny. He is funnier in chorus with other folk, because his process needs to be fed. Much like him. But even on his own he's worth the ticket fee. Doubly so at half price.

+Spankabuttux we all have friends we'd rather watch than Phil, but that's how they stop being friends and you start being 'the defendant'.
@Nabend14029 жыл бұрын
+AnonEyeMouse I partly disagree, he's a very funny stand-up, does not need people around him. His bit on Live at the Apollo about his daughter having her boyfriend spend the night ranks fairly high on my list of favourite stand-up bits. Really well acted, believable and full of great lines. His DVD, while fairly old, is also pretty good. I genuinely don't know why he inspires such bile against him. He's not even on telly much, doesn't do any reality tv or ITV2, 3, 4 shit. The most offensive thing about him is his dress sense...
@Jefffdale9 жыл бұрын
Phil is not funny, he is insufferable.
@sratus9 жыл бұрын
+Jeff Dale I'd agree with that. He's one of those comedians who has just slipped through the net and has managed to be on tv forever without actually being very funny.

+sratus he was alright at playing that nodding dog in those car insurance adverts. But even then Vic Reeves had to rescue it by replacing Phils mediocre, mind numbing dribbling dialogue.
