My daughter is a year and a half, and she already loves Kermit and Fozzie, Bert and Ernie. She rocks back and forth humming along nonsensically whenever she hears Rainbow Connection or I Don't Want to Live on the Moon. No mortal effort could ever deprive future generations of what Jim Henson gave to those of us fortunate enough to share the earth with him a few years (a mere five in my case).

They’re both Jim Henson and Frank Oz my favorite was Ernie and Bert on Sesame Street because they are like Kermit and fozzie bear from the muppet show

Mid 90s scooter was there until muppets from space voiced by Adam hunt and Brian Henson as Janice and scooter in merry muppet Christmas movie then Ricky Boyd as scooter and then David rudman is Janice and scooter

His love and the love that he inspired in those that helped him imagine the world they created will live for ever. Things that are good and right and smart and kind never go away... they become part of us and the way we love. It will only grow from here. I hope my life can be as valued when I leave. I am far from that mark but working on it.

And that's where WE come in. The ones who got to see and cherish those past memories and passing them on to our kids and grandkids and the others the come after us. Yes, they wont get all of it but it's our job to pass it on like our parents gave to us. The Muppets are like the precious family jewels that get passed down... We cant forget about them.

I find it ironic that Jim Henson's eulogy would be done by Richard Hunt, who died a little more than a year after Jim. By the way, September 24, 2011 would have been Jim Henson's 75th birthday.

@kennons060911 But The Muppets are still there... and although Jim isn't overseeing the new stuff, his wife and kids are carrying on his vision. With how much they care, I am thankful for that. I would hope The Muppets are around when I have kids. ... I hope the rest of the show gets a DVD release for reasons like that as well...

Yes very sad Jim is no longer with us but our kids and the kids of today know Jim because he lives on through us .. whenever we watch the muppets or sesame street :)

My 17 year old cousin just left my house. I just realized he has no idea at all who the Muppets are, and he wasn't sure if he had ever heard of Kermit the Frog. I literally choked up thinking of youth without the Muppets in the back of your mind, even just a little. Miss Piggie or Fozzie never existed to High Schoolers today :(
