Decided to watch because the picture led me to believe it might be Brian Blessed. Well, it's not Brian, but I'm glad I took a look nonetheless. A unique and powerful interpretation!

I really like this interpretation. Don't listen to the other two going "guuuuuh it's overplayed" (what does that even mean) or "it's not Richard III". there's a form of madness in this interpretation. It shows a grandiloquent aspect of Richard. It's dark, eerie, unhinged, the deepest and most hidden parts of the character's personality. I love this interpretation a lot, the actor does a really good job!

Richard’s soliloquy is something I return to again and again. Surfing KZbin for olivier’s and mckelken’s version and playing along on my own (like a crazy person) This rendering now and forever will join the others as I was eagerly playing along with him even on that first viewing. In Dragon Age, there is a dwarf king who murders his older brother and frames the youngest one for it BUT at the end of the quest. This bloodthirsty dwarf is best suited for the crown. Or even a dwarf or orc in in a Lord Of The Rings scenario. Keep up the good work!@@medusamediaproductions

Thanks for the comment Alex, we understand that this in not the traditional way of playing Richard. Unfortunately for far too long Shakespeare's plays have been butchered by snobby drama teachers telling us how to play his characters. If you prefer the guys in tights from public schools playing the part, good luck with that...Each to their own...

This makes absolutely no sense. Richard was a royal. Why would he look like a drunken pirate? Richard is eloquent so he chooses his words carefully and deliberately. Iambic pentameter is all over the place. If I were to ignore the history of the play and the history of the actual Richard III, I guess you could say the performance is good but it’s so hard to ignore how off all of this is. It would be like Tom Hardy as Mad Max playing the role of Hellen Keller. I’m sure the performance would be great but I can’t separate that from the lack of understanding of the text

yes - overplayed. Ive never seen an actor take one word "discontent" and overplay it SO MUCH, that they turned it into 3 words. SMH. There's so much, but i'll stop there.....
