The last true Knight and King of England - the Man that died LEADING his troops, instead of staggering BEHIND them - the Man that fought 'till the bitter end, looking stright into death's eyes without any fear - and yet all the world remembers him for some words he never spoke - "begging for a horse", while in truth he turned down that horse with disgust and walked the into the valley of death, with the few faithful men, without any hesitations. If a Man like that, is not worthy to be a Monarch, then who is? May he Rest in Peace.

Say what one will of Richard III, he was an anointed king, and it says much of the English people that they gave him a fitting burial. Of his crimes, no one knows for certain who committed them except God. Let, therefore God be his judge, as he will be to all of us and let Richard at least have the dignity of a Christain burial as befits him. Long live Richard. Long live Leicestershire. Long live England.

@Marki Faux I agree. I think the original comment was not meant to slander Richard; but sadly many people harmlessly yet ignorantly believe the rumours about King Richard, because it's all we are told; unless we actually research. So, give the guy a break, he's not an asshole, just slightly misinformed. Richard was a great king - and would have been a magnificent one had he been allowed to rule for longer than a mere 2 years :(

Through the mist of politically inspired and unsubstantiated propaganda originating from an age when the tone could be set at the stroke of a pen, I find the best route to the truth is to look at the man himself and what we actually know about him. He was a brave warrior, as we know not only from his exploits at Bosworth, in which he killed William Brandon and unhorsed the giant John Cheyenne with his broken lance, but also in the campaigns in which he had fought in previous years. There is historical evidence that he routinely led from the front and placed himself in the thick of the fighting, made all the more remarkable by his physical impediment. He was also a pious and devout Catholic. The murder of the Princes in the Tower would have been the act of a coward and of an individual who had no concern for his immortal soul. From what we know about Richard III, he was neither of these.
