He died less than a year after this video was taken. I'm sorry not to have met him. He seems so intelligent, humble and insightful. I see may western and eastern dharma teachers who are terribly conceited, and lack knowledge. They regurgetate what they've read taught with no understanding let alone putting it into practise. Richard however seems very different.

Richard, you will never be forgotten be me or many others. sadhu, sadhu, sadhu....to you most dear, most generous, most kind, most loving teacher of the Dhamma. I have only just discovered his Abhidharma recordings. Very sad to learn of his passing, but grateful for these gifts. His clarity and humility are evident and speak to me of his authenticity, very rare, true to my sense of buddhism.

I didn't know about him. I discovered him while I was browsing for video on Abhidarma after my mother demise. I realized he was brilliant and a true Buddhist in true sense.

My sympathies for your mother. Visit us at the London Buddhist Vihara if you are ever in the UK - there are many other good teachers here. with metta Mridula.

After having read some of the comments & listened to several of the abhidhamma talks by Richard, he still is a great teacher, as I have never met him, but can benefit by listening to his talks.. I also had a great teacher who died but these talks on the London Buddhist Vihara KZbin are superb. You can tell Richard really knows his stuff because he puts it into language that anybody can understand and that is a true greatness. I am sure he is in a really good place.

I have been enjoying his videos very much. Very clear teachings. This is the only channel out of the many Buddhist channels I have come across that provide such systematic Dhamma lessons with high clarity. I just found out about Richard's death. May he R.I.P. I wonder what meditation attainments he had given his vast knowledge of Buddhism.

Hello Aga Jafarli. Richard was an excellent meditation teacher although he did not 'promote' himself in this role (or any other). During the last 12 years that I had known him, he more or less gave classes when and where asked - even going to people's homes to give classes on request. I recall at one class I was attending, someone asked Richard if he was enlightened and he simply said "No, I am not". That is all I can tell you. Here is a talk he gave about meditation kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXXQeZSvraZsrNk. Thank you for the positive feedback about the channel. with Metta , LBV

@@LondonBuddhistVideos Thank you for the kind reply. I am sure he had had great insights. I would kindly want to inquire if there are any meditation lessons of his on record. That would greatly benefit a lot of us. With metta❤

@@agajafarli6707 I am sorry, but I do not think so. Not to my knowledge. Have you come across the "Insight Timer". There are many good guided meditations on this app if you search for one that suits your needs. If you are ever in London - London Buddhist Vihara (where Richard was based for many years) has weekly meditation on Wednesday 7pm (guidance by one of the monks) and also a fortnightly Saturday retreat.

@@LondonBuddhistVideos Yes, I know about "Insight Timer". There is an actually abundance of meditation materials on the internet. It would be ,and must have been, a great fortune for one to have meditation sessions led by Richard. Some teachers are better than others. I also wonder if they ordain monks at London Buddhist Vihara. Any info on that? May be you know other buddist monasteries that ordain. With metta😊

I just watched his first videos of the nobel truth the full chat, and I come to the page to find out of his passing. I have a new awareness even if I am sad that he's no longer here to spread his word... but I am conscious of the attachment. wow this is weird but I love these vids!

Thank you. What a wonderful message UrFavChinita. He was an easy man to feel greatly attached to. An exceptional Dhamma teacher and humble practitioner. I am so glad you are enjoying the Dhamma and Richards teaching of it. Metta Paula from LBV

The wonder of technology we can benefit from these teachings even though Richard has passed. Otherwise they'd have simply been lost the moment he gave them, to only a handful of people.

Yes, this paradox.. I came to know him a few weeks ago through this channel and his Abiddhama teachings. Now I see this video and if not for the words he's still totally present in my mind. And there's this sense that "death" it's just another mental formation. ♥️🙌✨
