I heard somewhere that the amount of intelligence, skill and focus required for our hunter-gatherer ancestors to scrape a meal together each day was equivalent to that required for an air traffic controller to do his job. Life was high stakes and high stress in the ages before ours

He wasn’t an “American” in 1765. He was a colonial English subject who moved to another area of English colony. The conflict that differentiated “America” from “Canada” wouldn’t start for nearly a decade, though the seeds were there.

My ancestors were among the first French families in Nova Scotia and were part of the Expulsion. Many returned to Nova Scotia.

Also the natives were only "hostile" because they were being murdered and their land stolen. Pretty sure that would make anyone angry.

Yup. This section was quite creepy for me. The words used just seemed to gloss over the horrors. (Just my 2-cents.)

Always interesting his net work, but with that snowy landscapes and a more intimate habitat while to vaguely search for my ancestors and I would spend my time better doing something else,,,he inspires me with sinful thoughts😛🤩🤪

After the American Revolutionary War, in 1783, at least 30,000 Loyalists who fought for the British King, fled to Nova Scotia where they were promised land. There was a mad scramble to survey the land. 2,000 or more runaway slaves who fought for the British also fled to Nova Scotia.

They glossed over the removal of the French people. Are these people ones who ended up in New Orleans?

Some went to New Orleans. My family settled in Massachusetts.
