Rules in place in 2013, broken in 2018, nothing done, then again in 2019, 2020, 2021, yet did nothing, then fine EFC for building a stadium, which was nothing to do with the rules until the PL changed them. 6 clubs broke the rules, and got a fine. EFC so called broke a rules, before it was a rule, and then lose points for it. The PL state, fining a billionaire is not worth doing. Yet it was ok to fine the top six when they broke the rules. Having no consistency is where the PL falls down.

Love the podcast and others featuring Andy Burnham. It is blatantly obvious that in Everton’s appeal case the independent commission should dismiss any charges as fundamentally the PSR regulations have been systemically flawed since they were introduced in 2013. This is because they had no related sanctions policy/formula based on the principles of proportionality as essential components to consider if any breaches are to be properly addressed. They should also have had an underpinning policy to regularly review the regulations to consider such as the impact of inflation particularly on spending limits and also case law on the potential impact on fans. In addition the PL should withdraw all charges of breaches against all clubs and look to introduce the UEFA regulations as long as they have the necessary underpinning policy’s. This would allow the PL time to address the mess they have put football in including the farcical situation of the transfer window, and look to how they should support all clubs to fulfil their ambitions and potential to improve the game overall. I am sure Manchester City’s legal team will rip the current regulations to shreds and get all 115 charges dropped and if the PL had any sense they would accept that the current rules are unworkable. They have as good as admitted this when trying to introduce a sanctions policy during the first commission hearing which was quite rightly rejected by the panel who admonished the PL for doing so. It was excruciating watching Richard Masters in parliamentary hearing saying the PL have promoted an open sanctions policy for the independent commission to decide upon based on the circumstances which the PL thought was fair, then says they are changing the rules to UEFAs. This was an admission that the current rules are flawed and an utter embarrassment. It is also obvious that the PL forced the panel to impose a 10 point penalty based on the sanctions policy that they tried to introduce retrospectively and the ‘independent’ commission allegedly dismissed! What has also come to light in this debacle is the corrupt relations PL has with the media inc Sky and leaking stories to certain click bait journalists who are trying to be relevant. I for one will never read the Daily Mail or The Athletic again or listen to the self obsessed clueless wannabe Simon Jordan on Talk-sport and I urge all football fans to boycott them until a more balanced form of journalism is adopted. Bring on the independent regulator and get football back into the interests of the fans. 👍

It wasn't on the cards until it was recommended to the panel and then leaked to the press. That's like changing the penalty for purse stealing from suspended sentence/community service to a possible hanging, and then swaying the jury by squawking to the papers that it will be a hanging. Yes we feel hard done by. Now sod off.

Not sure what Chelsea's charges are but I believe Man City's charges were all raised by UEFA, for which I understand UEFA have already fined City for, the issue appears to be that some of the accounting dates had expired under UEFA FFP rules but there is no time expirey under Prem PSR, as you are probably aware teams in the Prem who play in UEFA competitions have to adhere to UEFA FFP rules, which I believe losses can't be more than 60m in a 3 year period, less than the 105m Prem PSR, although I'm not a Man City fan I believe their argument is that they admitted to breaking UEFA's rules but never made the losses required to breach Prem rules over those years, probably that's why it's taking so long, Everton now have 2 cases and Forest 1 to argue whereas City are arguing everyone of the 115, don't think the UEFA case was over that quick either as that ended up with City going to the court of arbitration where they won the appeal and got the UEFA fine reduced.

The questions asked were terrible. My first return would be what makes Everton's breaches different than Citeh's? He doesn't have to go into any detail whatsoever about Citeh, however he would have to explain what he meant by different. If that's the reason why Everton have been handed points and Citeh have not. Also, if he is saying they want to be transparent, then what determines the points deduction. Is it minus 1pt per £500k? If so, what happens to a club if they have breached by say £500m!? Do they get minus 1,000 points? If so does that mean they go down several leagues!? So many good questions to ask, and a bunch of idiots asking them

Not sure it’s that simple Everton were working under the direction of Premier League to ensure they stayed compliant. Premier League reneged on previous advice. Even if they did break the rules surely even you agree you can’t be punished twice for the thing
