I've been a huge fan of Richard Turner for over a decade. As an amateur card mechanic myself, I've watched many incredible card mechanics and often thought, 'Even though I know what move they were doing, I still couldn't see it'. When I watch Richard Turner, I think 'I didn't see anything, and have no idea what move he was doing.'

Thank you Tim. I was away from your podcast for years. But I came back for this one and it had huge impact on me. I had a really cathartic experience when Mr. Turner spoke about his mental motivation to deal with bullies. I had a realization about my own experience with bullies 20 yrs ago and why I act now in a certain way. Deep down I am afraid of not being worthy and this creates self hatred and aggression towards the others, which I use to cover my insecurity. Than you, both of you for this interview.

I have worked out for the better part of 30 years. I was a very good wrestler in high school and learned some discipline and ways to work out at a young age. I have some similarities because I grew up small, picked on, and I had a shiz ton of anger.....I'm a bit more normal maybe but I can relate to his anger issues, It helped me in my wrestling years obviously. I start working out and get in shape for a year then I peter out for a few months. then I start again, do well for 3 months and stop for 6 months. I have had a hard time during Covid because the gyms have been closed. I started 3 weeks ago working out and came across this dude on you tube because i am an amateur poker enthusiast, I guess? This is extremely motivating. Although, I realize most people are not like this guy. I do procrastinate. I do have some streak of laziness here and there. I have to push and motivate myself. Unlike Richard Turner obviously, his being will not let him stop or calm down enough to take a break for even one day, which is fine. Jealous? yes to some extent. He is obviously, extremely OCD. Which has good and bad things, it motivates you but it can also drive you crazy if you don't control it. Your right Tim, we all have our own lense. I love to watch Richard, he is amazingly interesting. A very outstanding, unusual individual.

Minute 15:25-- He's totally moving the top card, just like in the "non-dead deck" example, when dealing with the second card. He's also crossing his right thumb behind the left (instead of in front like in the "non-dead deck" example). I can't be the only one to see this? I Iove these guys, Richard, Ricky Jaye and the guy who busted Uri Geller. Their stories are tremendous. Don't get me wrong- not trying to bag on Richard but the above stated is so obvious to me... Love, "discipline begets discipline", the explanation of which is so elegant in its simplicity!
