It was mistaken for a composition by Wagner. It was actually Baermann who wrote this as part of his third clarinet quintet. Fun fact of the day 👌

I have a question. I'm gonna have to play this for Solo and Ensemble, but I have an edition with solely "Richard Wagner" as the author. This is understandable due to the common misattributions of this piece solely to him, but the list I am choosing from specifically says "Wagner/Bellison". I've looked all over and besides one copy on jwpepper.com with this attribution (and no preview so that I may make sure that it's the same thing), there are 0 recordings or sheet music references to this "Bellison" anywhere else. Do I have the right version, or what?

Maybe it is an editon by Bellison with some minor changes. (legatos,etc.) If your edition just mention Wagner as the composer it's very understandable, casue Bearmann isn't very known nowadays. However the origin of this piece is questionable.

ricky hasy Well in 2011 I've played the clarinet since 2005. It isn't a very hard piece, but if you'd like to play it nice it needs a lot of practice.
