Richard is surprisingly powerful, going off of the few occurrences he actually utilizes his strength. He's been shown to be easily capable of bursting through solid walls, knocking over a street lamp by just throwing a broom handle at it, and even completely overpowering people of a similar size to himself, often with very little effort and sometimes with only a single strike. That's not even getting into his deceptively high level of intelligence and experience with various (though often strangely specific) subjects, an example being the fact that he knows more about Nicole than nearly anybody else, or the fact that he's ABDSURDLY durable and surprisingly resistant to pain, having fallen out of a plane without deploying parachute and receiving zero damage or even displaying any sign of pain after impact.

Just remember, this is only ONE of the Wattersons. All of them have immense abilities, (Darwin is an outlier, due to being a pet with legs and having no blood relation to the family,) with Gumball being a combination of Richard and Nicole's power, also with a splash of his own abilities. Richard is immensely strong and enduring, while Nicole is agile, smart, and also quite strong. Gumball has yet to master use of his abilities, being young, but we see flashes of his abilities throughout the series. Anais shows us that rhe inherited qualities only grow with them being passed down, as she is smarter than Nicole. Sadly for her, it seems the intelligence was all she inherited. Gumball, contrastly, shows that he is very strong, agile, and EXTREMELY enduring. He also has extraordinary luck (most of the time.) His only flaw is he lacks discipline, making his abilities unrefined and rather unpredictable. That all being said, if Gumball ever brings children into the world with Penny, THEY WOULD BE GODS.

Gumball is only strong and agile because of toon physics, other than that? He is consistently portrayed as weak and unfit and unathletic, plus he's chubby. Gumball is lazy, weak and unathletic as shown MANY TIMES in the show, the parts where he goes super fast and strong is due to toon force, AKA 'cause it's funny, but in-character he is unathletic and hates sport.
