Really to not speak about the shoring up of real estate, food production, housing, by govt. Is misleading. Subsidies not only feed and house the poor but enable the cost of everything to increase. Now they are subsidizing the middle class housing !! Get it. It enables the price of that housing to increase !!

Ahhh, I see so the inflation we all have right now is due to employers? So no co-relation to central banks around the world printing trillions of dollars? That's a suprise! So you're saying that if there hadn't been QE that there would still be 40 year high inflation? You're dead wrong.

Qe only covered the destruction of credit. So it didn't add anything. The government however giving grants and 0 percent loans during covid did have impact

Of course "employers" (he means producers) set prices, but they do so within the framework of competition that exists in the free market. Price inflation is always caused by either monetary inflation (raising the ratio of money in cuirculation to GDP), increased demand, reduced supply, or some combination thereof. He's, right, there's no mystery about inflation. He just likes to obfuscate the problem for political ideological reasons.

It's political reasons (both left and right) that influences money in circulation. It's also political reasons influenced by the "producers" (although it's workers that PRODUCE) that strips workers of their working conditions, bargaining power, etc. Maybe you just don't like the message - listen to FOX instead, we can see where that ideology has gotten us.

Free market = corporations are free to shaft us in any way and to any degree that they want. Unbridled capitalism in action. Also they get state handouts of public money every time their greed gets the better of them and the risks they take backfire on them. In this way, like spoiled teenagers, they never have to face the consequences of their actions.

You could have not said it any better. The oversimplification of this explanation he gives leads people to a single conclusion which does not take into account all the factors you have listed. This oversimplification and injection of ideology is plain irresponsible.

Absolutely, traditionally speaking... the price is found where demand meets supply. And Friedman is correct regarding inflation being a monetary phenomenon. Sure, employers raise their prices, but only to protect their reduced margins, because they're also trying to catch up.... with inflation.
