I agree, it is a lost art. In other interviews Richard has said that he & the other members of Rammstein go to therapy to help communicate with each other. I wonder if that has enhanced his communication skills.

@@Aprilpie13 Probably came from the numerous arguments he got with the rest of the band... They nearly disbanded after Mutter as Richard wanted to control everything. Sure, he's pretty much the one who gathered everyone and "cemented" the Rammstein sound, but it obviously was a six-man affair, and not the Richard Show. It seems things have been going much more smoothly since Reise, Reise, when he took a step back to let everyone experiment and try their own thing.

​@@aleflippy1997 Not sure why everyone seems to bring up the ''Richard-Mutter" conflict time after time, on every RZK video I watch. The band was also close to disbanding when Till appeared in the music video for 'Mutter' (song) alone. Some of the members also said that they had issues with Paul's straightforward-ness about their (lack of) musical abilities/contributions, which they said was quite rude and hurtful. It seems that all 6 of them had a tough time working together (not just Richard) but they have since worked on their friendship and are still together, stronger than ever ♥

@@Tang1411 I've never heard that story about Paul, and I'm a contributor to both Rammwiki and the french Rammstein forums. As for Till appearing alone... That comes precisely from the fact they were all tired of RZK's reign of terror. As Mutter was wrapping up, they all wanted some holidays. And so they all did, except Till. Which in turn, as you said, caused some stir as they all agreed to be put on the same level up until then. But it still roots back to Richard's difficulties to work with.

Dieser Mann ist so facettenreich. Er wird auch ohne Rammstein überleben. Wer nicht ansatzweise verstehen kann was an ihm toll ist, der sollte seine Videos nicht gucken. Wer nur Rammstein mag, wird auch nicht so sehr von Emigrate begeistert sein ich mag ja Beides UND dann auch noch Ghost und Tobias Forge.

A good friends girlfriend works for the insurance company in Berlin that Richard had his apartment and studio insured at. She told him that they still suspect that this was an insurance fraud since the circumstances were really strange and that the pool was sabotaged and not faulty. Also this came at a time where Richard had it financially difficult because of a separation and needed money for the house he was building and at the same time he needed to buy his ex an apartment. All of this made them very suspicious of his behaviour.

Endlich mal ein Interviewer, der den Künstler ausreden lässt, höflich, und sinnvolle Fragen stellt!

Ist ein riesen Unterschied, wenn der Interviewer in der Materie drin ist und selber Ahnung hat und für wen das Interview ist (in dem Fall Leserschaft eines Musik Magazins, also Leute die ein bisschen Ahnung von Musik haben). Viele Interviews sind ja eher mit irgendwelche Mädels von Sendern, die vielleicht selber nicht so wissen wie die Technik hinter der Musik aussieht. Die kauen dann natürlich 20 Mal die gleichen persönlichen Fragen durch: wie sieht's in der Band so aus, haben sich alle lieb, gibt's 'ne neue Beziehung etc. Einfach auch weil die Zuhörer/Leser von z.B. MTV sowas eher hören wollen. Die könnten mit Infos über Reamping oder Mixing in the box null anfangen. Hier merkt man finde ich sehr stark, dass Richard Spaß am Erzählen hatte. 80% des Videos redet er, erklärt viel, setzt aber auch voraus, dass der Interviewer weiß worum es geht, was ja scheinbar der Fall ist. Demnach sind die Fragen sehr viel technischer und detaillierter. Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, wann einer mal gefragt hat wieso Richard ein Solo jetzt eher im Rockabilly Stil gespielt hat, oder welchen Verstärker er wozu nutzt. Die Fragen drehen sich eben auch alle um seinen Beruf und was er macht und nicht um sein persönliches Leben. Es steht ihm dadurch dann frei, selber zu erzählen dass er sich z.B. das Studio selber aufgebaut hat.

I'm 61, grew up listening to KISS, and had rediscovered how good they were just a year ago... so it does my heart good to see the Destroyer album behind Richard, because only a month ago I discovered Rammstein (I know! How does that happen? Looking at you, KZbin algorithm : /), and learned that KISS was a big inspiration for Richard. The Ace Frehley KISS albums are fantastic, in much the way Rammstein is: the songs are 80% of the awesomeness (not everyone can write music that endures), but another large part is image. Both bands do what lots of bands fail at: fun. Being overly serious ruins metal / rock more than any other defect. KISS and Rammstein managed to present themselves as fabulous spectacles to complete that 20% required for metal perfection.
