I never knew who Richard Ashcroft was five years ago. However, when I saw the music video of "Bittersweet Symphony" from the 1997 Urban Hymns album, that changed my perspective on not only my life, but with society and music. In that moment, I fell in love with Britpop. I went to listen the rest of the songs in the Urban Hymns album, which I love a lot. Then, I discovered you went on a solo career and released your first official solo album "Alone with Everybody" back in 2000. I listened every song in that album and I LOVED it as well. After that, I also took the time to listen to "Human Conditions" (2002), "Keys to the World" (2006), United Nations of Sound (2010), These People (2016) and Natural Rebel (2018). Since then, I'm always waiting on your next masterpiece. Earlier this year, you released a magnificent cover of John Lennon's "Bring on the Lucie (FREDA PEEPLE). This month, you also released an acoustic version of the iconic song "Bittersweet Symphony". The same song that made me discover who Richard Ashcroft was and still is: A true legend. With this music video bringing another classic song back to life while also taking a look of your legendary life from your humble beginnings, your relationship with Kate, your wonderful children, and the dedication of this music video to your loved one, Rita (R.I.P.) was so motivating and emotional as well. I should do this thing called life because it's just one short life we all have. Things come and go in this fragile life. While other people are listening to today's garbage music, I listen to your music instead. I'm not for that world. Thanks to you, I can still hear this beauty in life. Music is Power! I'm sad that it doesn't get as much attention, but at the same time not surprised, as you know, Bach and Beethoven aren't listened as much either but that's because most are swimming with the tide.
