If I had to recommend a KZbin channel to someone to learn how to fish fresh water. It would definitely be Richard Gene the teaching machine. Thanks you have made me a better fisherman.

My brother was getting back into fishing after not fishing for about 30 years. Life, career, etc. get in the way sometimes... but I was pleased to steer him to your channel a while ago. Since then, his success rate has increased. Thank you, Gene, for all you do. The blessings extend further than we think sometimes. Thanks. God bless you and Momma Sue.

Fished in and off all my life. Since getting back into it and finding this channel I have learned so much and regained what I did forget. This dude is the man and is a great teacher. One of the best to wet a line. Thank you for all you do. Much appreciation and respect.

I love the fact that you're never afraid to change up your lure, bait, method, location, etc. Too many fisherman in my area only fish 1 color and type of lure, 1 size of hook, 1 depth, and/or 1 location, then they wonder why more versatile fishermen are catching more fish. You know how to adapt!

I am still here and alive (thank God). I need to get back to my goals I set for myself! Thanks for this good video, RG. Happy new year!

That plastic looks so natural for crappie or bass. Here in the south it seems a non colored jig head seems to make a difference. I like the micro death grip hooks, but whatever works is all that matters. Great videos from a true fisherman.. 👍😎

My favorite underspins...I used them with bobby garland glacier or monkey milk color on a deep local strip pit to catch huge crappie, just gotta be careful bending up the hook a little like we do, cause they tend to snap.
@brianlykins6663Ай бұрын
Nice video, Richard. Thanks for taking us along with you. Thank you for all the tips and knowledge you share with us. I really like the underspin jigs, I guess I started using these in my early teen years, saw Jimmy Houston using them, figured if they were good for him, they'd work for me. I'll tell you, I think Mr. Houston could learn from you about crappie fishing. I'd love to see you two crappie fishing together. God bless y'all and stay safe out there on the water. I would like to wish you and Mama Sue a safe and Merry Christmas.

I’ve noticed how your using braid in this video, and tying direct to the bait. I like braid better for casting and sensitivity, but when it’s windy I like going to at least a 6# mono for stability. What’s your opinion Richard?

One thing is a fact I know for sure. When you get a bite on a FinSpin you sure know about it. Crappie will hit a FinSpin harder than they will just a Jig and Grub.
