@@RichHackmanbro which region does it work properly
@RichHackmanАй бұрын
@@techultron_etron I have not personally tested Starlink outside of the Greater Accra Region, but according to Starlink's Availability Map (www.starlink.com/map), their internet service should work in every region in Ghana

@@RichHackmanhey rich, I'm working with a non profit in ghana. We have to vaccinate and track vaccinations in very rural areas I'm wondering if starlink works in these areas as it could help our cause greatly 🙏
@RichHackmanАй бұрын
@dandogamer that is the big selling point of Starlink. Because internet is provided by satellites up above, it means that it can provide service to even the most remote areas. According to their availability map ( www.starlink.com/map ) they do provide service to the whole of Ghana, so I would say you should try it. If you do please write back and let me know how it went and what region of the country you tried it in

Rich, this review is fantastic! Reliable internet access in rural places in Ghana and the rest of Africa is truly life-changing, opening up so many opportunities for education, work, and staying connected. Not having to constantly worry about data limits is great, even if the upload speeds are a bit slower. Starlink is such a game-changer for communities that have been underserved for so long-great job highlighting that!

Thanks Anna!! I think it's obvious but I'm super excited about the potential of technology opening up Africa to the rest of the world. Thanks for watching and always following my journey

Thanks for shariing your experience using starlink in Ghana. Wish you had mentorship on how Ghanaians could get remote jobs to do online. Thank you once again.
@RichHackmanАй бұрын
My pleasure! And your mentorship suggestion is a good one but I'd have to become more of an authority on the subject first. Considering that I first got my job in the US in-office and then later they allowed me to be fully remote I think that would be an unrelatable experience to learn from for most Ghanaians. But maybe I can pool together some knowledge from people I know working remotely in Ghana and Africa and see what we can learn from that

Thank you so much for this video. I just started working remotely in Ghana. the internet is so bad in the evenings that it affects video meetings and communication. I nearly gave up and wanted to return back to the states. Then i heard of starlink but i was still skeptical. Watching your video has given me hope so i will be trying it. Quick question- do you think the Starlink mini will work in Ghana if i purchase it in the US and continue my monthly payments. Since it is for roaming.
@michaelikupa833119 күн бұрын
Just get Telecel FIbre broadband. Starlink is waaayyy slower compared to it. It depends on where you're located though
@bigchungus20819 күн бұрын
@@michaelikupa8331 have you considered if her location has access to fibre? Most areas in Ghana don't have fibre connectivity
@RichHackman3 күн бұрын
My understanding is that Starlink products purchased outside of Ghana will work, but also that in the future Starlink may start charging fees for people who acquire the equipment that way. There may also be the risk that they later make your equipment ineffective. I don't have a definitive answer for you so there is definitely a risk involved

Hi Rich. I will be working 2 months every year in Ghana. My question is. Is it possible to activate/subscribe for just the 2 months I am working in Ghana and cancel the subscription whenever I am not in Ghana?
@RichHackman3 күн бұрын
So pausing your service depends on what plan you have. If you have a Residential plan like I do, unfortunately you can't pause it and pick it up again later. It seems the only plans you can do that with are the Roam, Mobile Priority, or Business Aviation plans at this point. Maybe check out my video about Google Fi Wireless and see if that might be a better solution for your 2 month period: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZObnZ98iMZ4oqc

Does starlink work in particularly well in all locations?
@RichHackmanАй бұрын
I haven't tested Starlink in multiple locations. It is really meant to be an at-home Internet solution rather than a portable solution. Think of it more like a DSTV satellite dish service. Starlink's coverage map includes all of Ghana, and since it is satellite and not cellular, I'm confident that it will have similar if not better performance in more remote areas

Please how many devices can be connected to the starlink standard And will they all get the same download speed
@RichHackman2 күн бұрын
It depends on your setup. Each Starlink router can technically connect up to about 235 devices, but like any other network when you have more devices connected you can expect Internet speed to start to decrease depending on the different uses of each device

Is the data on starlink in Ghana free
@RichHackmanАй бұрын
Starlink is currently only a home-based internet and data service provider. It is a post-payment, fixed monthly subscription so at the end of every month you will pay GHS 770 regardless of the amount of data you use. Currently Starlink cannot be connected to your phone outside of the range of your home wifi network
