Love this band. Always true to the sound and arrangements. Thanks to Vince keeping all the original arrangements for years. Thanks so much Vince! 👍

You were born at a time when all this great music is available just a click away plus loads of other genres! But I know what you mean - would be nice to hear clubs filled with this music.

I wish I could transcribe as well, no way. Did you pick the different key for the singer?
@MauroLPorro2 жыл бұрын
@@moldyoldie7888 Sorry for the late reply! I guess Vince lowered tonality for singin' reason, yes. I wrote it as the original is (C). I believe C concert-key is better sounding indeed!

콜 포터 씨는 참 대단하셨죠. Anything goes, new yorker

Is that an aluminium upright bass?
@j.d.schultzsr.92152 жыл бұрын
It is more likely chrome plated stamped sheet metal. Many years ago, I played a bit on a sheet metal cello, painted to look like wood. Whatever it is, it certainly looks REALLY excellent, and, like the tenor banjo it helps preserve the sound lost to most modern jazz..

We had one of those in the band I played with in college. We called it the fender bass--but we meant the fender of a car.

what's that violin player doing?
@j.d.schultzsr.92152 жыл бұрын
He may be playing behind the large megaphone. I have seen violinists in acoustic bands play with an attached megaphone to be heard in the mix. I play strings, and since this is my favourite type of music, it is not always easy to be heard in the mix without very high-quality acoustic instruments.
