I love your interviews Richard, Matt story is exactly mine, I too was an architect switched to trading in 1998 and since then I'm a full time trader, since my first course when i saw my first chart I knew this was my passion and this is what I'm gonna do for the rest of my life, like falling in love from first sight.

Hey Richard, I’ve always wondered how different swing traders manage risk. Like how traders position size in relation to how much they risk of their equity, etc. Really important. Thanks for asking your guests!

very good interview Richard! he was eager to teach/explain things like win/loss ratio, how he uses options, stop-loss, etc. very good. 1.he mentioned about ivanhoff, Dan Zanger. can you interview them if possible ? 2.can you make a 10-15 minute video on % wins/losers, size of wins/losers, what a trader should focus on, etc ? Thanks

After watching trader videos for 2 years now, I've figured out what's the final topic that all these traders need to address on these talks: please show us at least 2 years of bull market win-loss and at least 2 years of bear market win-loss. No more pre select charts on just two, three stocks. We need to see total performance.

Richard, you mention a snippet of Mark’s book about cutting losses. There was a part about keeping your stop loss under 10% too. What do you think about that rule? I thought it’s too restrictive because you’ll trade very volatile stocks sometimes. Also it seems like he’s risking a large portion of his portfolio too because he doesn’t talk about equity risk.
@RichardMoglen3 жыл бұрын
The 10% was just an example mark used in his book, I keep my losses below 3.5% on average and I bet Mark does as well

How can I learn to swing trade? Everyone is talking about bits and pieces or just opinions but how do you actually do the swing trading, what time frame, how do you know where to enter, how long do the trades run,? I'm sure there's more

One was ivaylo ivanov. He’s been interviewed on chat with traders and some others. The other he mentioned was mark minervini. The info they provide are just pure gold. I’ll tell ya, for those of us that are serious and working hard to learn this stuff…it’s all there. I mean these guys are literally telling us how to be successful. We have to just keep going, keep learning…this CAN be learned.

Noob question - What does Matt mean by bits? 25 bits, 50 bits. Etc.
@vivekrana742 жыл бұрын
bips or bps - Basis Points (1/100 of 1 percent)...He is stating 25 bps or 50 bps of Total Available Equity (TAE) is being risked by him on every trade (depending on market conditions and his own recent P&L performance)...So if the TAE is 100,000$, then 50 bps would be 500$ (0.5% of 100k) (and similarly 25 bps would be 250$)...Once the amount at risk for the trade is decided upon, say 50 bps and with 100k account, 500$, then one can use it for position and risk mgmt. IF the stop is say 2$ from your buy price, then if you want to risk only 500$, you should only buy 250 shares max
