It's a simple mod that should give climbers at least something to try rather than feel like the SAKA "failed" them. I am the head judge for Ascent in Minnesota and also was the judge for NATCC in 2022. The only times I had seen or even heard of a SAKA kickout were in competition with climbers pushing hard and literally going as fast as they could. Climbers often sacrifice form when they're pushing for speed and I think that's half the issue here. I'll share this video with folks who bring up kickout in the future.

Thank you Casey. I agree, the mod really only helps correct for errors in technique but getting to that point is half the fun, there are many things that come into play here and just turning up the speed without slowly turning it up while maintaining correct technique makes for the win. I too participate in many comps and watch this all in real time. I believe the SAKA provides for the fastest, safest and least cluttered rope walking system available and want every climber to experience that. Rope walking is not as easy as people think.
