I have fallen in love with restoration channels not only because of the craftsmanship and creativity involved in restoring some of the long-lost pieces of history but also because I find it fascinating to observe the different techniques people use to achieve their end results. I look forward to watching more of your incredible work.

I love that about watching restorations. Richard here actually bothered to prime, fill, wet sand, and prime again before painting. That's a lot more care than some folks put into these.

Wow!!!!! The most beautiful equipment I've seen being restored so far. I don't know why, but a good job like yours, bring tears to my eyes. Maybe I'm a little crazy, but it seems to me, that the old objects have their own feelings, and I can imagine them on their good times, when they were being used, and then suddenly abandoned, forgotten in a lonely place, untill someone appears and bring them into life again. The last calibration was made 3 years before I was born. Incredible! Congratulations for your excellent job dude!

There were a couple of small grocery store / meat markets within a short distance of where I lived as a kid and both used this exact type of scale. Brings back many memories seeing this. I enjoy seeing old, “useless” pieces of equipment being brought back to life like this. In a day and age where you can weigh something with your smartphone, it’s nice to see these analog machines be given a new lease on life, a testament to how things USED to be designed and made. There’s just something so satisfying about seeing physics in action what with the combination of springs, counterweights, balance levers, and gears! It feels more authentic than the “magic” we’ve become accustomed to with our smartphones. I know that the original pricing scale probably adds value but I would so love to see a gleaming white background with sharp, crisp numerals and tic marks showing through the magnifying lenses. As a graphic designer I would enjoy the challenge of building the artwork for that. Good job! The candy apple green gives it a little more character than your standard “clinical white with a gold pinstripe” which was a more common aesthetic.

@@richardrestorations I find the whole process of creating life that was once garbage a work of art. Washing away the dirt, dismantling, repairing broken parts, applying new paint then putting it back together. It’s all so beautiful!

Thanks for commenting but I think you forgot and how far advanced our computers have got, this did Compute the weight and a price at the time, and when the Apollo landed on the moon our modern calculators have more power then all the computers doing the calculations to get it there ,so there we have evolution so in another 110 years time when they look at back at our computer of today will they call it a computer!!!😃
