Not that it matters much, but as a Jamaican I have wanted to express this for sometime now: The Barbados flag is by far the most attractive design in the entire Caribbean, possibly the western hemisphere. Followed by St. Lucia, Guyana, Bahamas, T&T, and then maybe my own Jamaica. It isn't about loyalty or patriotism, it's about thoughtfulness, and the diagonal cross in my flag reminds me too much of the American confederate southern civil war flag. It's just how I feel. Plus Bridgetown looks so damn clean. Proud of you Bajans.
@bxny15116 жыл бұрын
lol not that it matters it's not any competition u right Steve but thx i never really heard that before i always thought our flag was pretty basic looking but that's just me as a Bajan maybe being so familiar w it...good to hear other's opinions ...the flags i always look at & I'm always impressed w for some reason when i hit the Parkway on labor day are the Grenada flag & the Haiti flag. the colors alone just pop out immediately when u look at it & i say wow.... but that's just me, everybody's different.
@stevenbarrett41106 жыл бұрын
BXNY1 Choosing Grenada and Haiti's flag shows just how much different you are from me. I don't like them one bit. Your flag design is simple yes, but that is how it should be. Grenada's flag is much too busy, and Haiti's is dull and simplistic. The colour blend in the Barbados flag is right up my alley, outstanding, and then THAT Trident. For me your flag is bright and classy. I honestly wish it was Jamaica's, and yes, your familiarity with it probably impacts your judgement.
@bxny15116 жыл бұрын
u don't like Grenada flag ?? WOW ... even jamaica flag has a decent design but Bim yea the trident is nice but other than that it's just 3 squares or boxes....it's ok but still kinda weak.
@stevenbarrett41106 жыл бұрын
BXNY 1 Since your last post, I decided to take another look at both flags. Lo and behold, my memory of both, needs upgrading. I swear I remember the Grenadian flag to have decals of spices all over it, where the heck did they go? The Haitian flag I remember containing two squares, black near the staff, and red opposite. I am 66 years old, so I am going to claim senility. I apologize to Grenadians and Haitians, your flags are not half bad. In fact, I venture to say they are a damn sight better than my Jamaican flag.
@bxny15116 жыл бұрын
no problem man, i'm actually not sure maybe they did change or update both over time but yea grenada flag is official to me. the ethiopia (rasta) colors pop off the screen when u look at it & i like the lil' details all over it. and it's nothing too busy at all to create confusion, just enough to make u admire it. see if bim flag had some lil' extra details in the blue areas i could agree w u but it's just plain blue rectangles .. i never saw our flag as anything too special ... or artistic.

As a young teenage bajan(barbadian) i can honestly say that Bridgetown(our main town) is not that quiet. And seeing that a lot of people were wearing school uniforms that you were there early afternoon on a weekday, hence so little crowd. No,we have no mcdonalds( once upon a time we did but he closed down after a month or so years ago because we like our chicken. You will find a lot of KFCs all about the place and somewhere near it, you'll find a fast food restaurant called Chefette (seen at 11:27) and it is the biggest competiton that KFC have on the island (in most cases people like chefette more because it not only have the same kinds of foods as KFC but it also branches out and have great deals plus most Chefette have playgrounds and recently most are indoors as well and have three layers. Additionally, Burger king is a recent installment but you will never find it as full has KFC or Chefette. However, even being the main town, the real excitment happens elsewhere if you wish for entertainment, such as Speightowns{west coast-near the north} located in St.Peter-have food chains, supermarkets and have beach access), Holetown(located in St.James{west coast} which features more towards tourist and have a cinema and other attractions, it is also next door to a beach) and Oistins (located in ChristChurch {south coast} also have a beach access and from Thurdays-Saturday has what we bajans like to call limes-where there have music, food, drinks live entertainment, bars). In the East coast is the seas from the Alantic Oceans, hence the water is a bit ruther and perfect for surfing and have several Bays and Coves that can be visited. Additionally, several hotels makes arrnagements and buses to give tours around the island so everyone will have a proper experience. Not that Barbados is the perfect place or anything, like all countries we have our own problems but seriously, the video makes us look boring. So please give us a chance and Comment if you have a question. :) Edit: Barbados has just elected its first female Prime Minister :) 😄😊😆 Let's see how her run goes.

Cari Replay It was the honest truth, because if i didn't know the road i would not believe that it was in Bridgetown Barbados due to how quiet it was with so little people. The streets are never that empty unless it was a veeerrry early weekday. Also some of the comments about how boring it seems made me very upset and i truely wish someone else put up a more exciting video on youtube for me to show a link to show them how a Bajan 'fete'/ party/lime truely is and how things really are. Yeck, i don't care if a video involves a fight either, it just shows that every country got it good sides and bad sides.

There is no comparison between Barbados and St. Vincent. St. Vincent people are more true to there culture and less influenced by the White mans ways. I've been to both places and St. Vincent is by far the better than the Bajans culture. There is more poverty in St. Vincent, the streets are not so well cared for. They are like the streets in Antigua. Take your eye off the ball and you end up with a sore ankle or leg. Love the Caribbean and all the people.

The most talented people in the entire Caribbean by far. The most legendary and popular island in the entire Caribbean by miles, the most sightseeing adventures. Yes *Jamaica* isn't perfect but it's name is far more recognizable than all the islands combined and that's a fact.....🤔

Barbados is not in competition with any of the Caribbean island. It had its own way of doing things, to make life better for its residents. The structure for education was a priority, which meant we were able to advance with that in place. It has nothing to do with size, but forward thinking. I’m a product of that educational system and many others..
