ehhhmmm, just to say… I was the one who recorded this show… long story to tell… a short line of glory, ladies and gentlemen…, and back to silence… One day I'll recover one or two terrible pictures of the show (real Kodak- Instamatic camera). Hola Helmutb! You're wellcome to my silly moment of tangerine glory! Ajahah Well, Sound would not be much better. I digitalized directly from my "much reused" standart tape ( using a nice Teac double cassette and an LG audio cd recorder). No edits. Then I gave a CD copy to a friend who is a collector. He lend it to another guy who, by his own decision started to sell it on the web in those early web days... Froese & Co came to know, and the recording started a near official life... Do you think it deserves the efford?

I think that this masterwork is the peak of the 70's tangerine dream era, together with Croydon/Ricochet, the London Concert of 1975 and few concerts in the first two months of 1976. Really incredibile music. After the middle of 1976 and the release of Stratosfear, they changed their music in a horrible way. No more pulsing tribal sequencers but stupid tunes and dummy rhytms. I don't understand what happened. It seems that they did not want to stress anymore the big Moog, for unknown reasons, and the resulting music was really of low quality. Instead this concert is wonderful and full of atmosphere
@jurjenvanderhoek3163 жыл бұрын
I do not agree at all. TD has continued to make superb music, also in the '80s and '90s and even in 2011 (Sonic Poem Series). They have changed throughout the years, yes, and that is only natural. They had explored most of what there is to explore in the field of improvised experimental music and made the best music possible. But the albums Tangram, Hyperborea, Exit and Optical Race (to name a few) are masterpieces from the '80s and how about Livemiles from the 90s? Or all the movie-scores? Just listen to the live concerts from Cleveland 1986 and New Haven 1988, and maybe you can change your opinion. This is among the best music in the universe. The use the word "horrible" here is unthinkable.

Well, i guess i was late to this one. just WOW. better than the sound quality, straight up monster performance by the boys. the audience noise sort of adds to it, like many recordings from the mid 70's. I get a real sense of how involved the crowd was, clapping, yelling out and along with parts. the cheers here and there. seems to be a feedback with the band TBH. IDK if any of the band spoke Spanish but it really isn't a problem, but then again it never was at a TD concert. Thanks may be a bit late but thanks anyway, Richard.

@@AndyKing1963 I stand by my original comment I believe in the liner notes of my CD from about the 1990's it listed all the keyboards played by each guy plus EF on grand piano and PB on flute. You could say that misinformation was rife at the time because they never mentioned the studio over dubs. And "Voices In The Net" isn't much help either. PB mentions he did "flute overdub' on the original "Phraedra". So maybe when they say flute it's just an economic way of saying "mellotron flute".

@waldorftrekkie3 жыл бұрын
I was there an recorded this concert. The clapping reveals the bad side of the magical thing of the whole mood in this concert: because of the design of the humble building (still on its place!) the Sports Pabillion was a horrible venue for music... and the only big place in the town for a money-bunch of rocking freaks. Mellotrons and TD long notes and melodies surfed succesfully the echoing of the building... but as soon as ritmical clapping starts... we start to hear the return from the claps, while we all were going crazy (can you imagine being calm surrounded by those synth percussions embrazing Hendrix sound guitar by Don Edgar???). Yes, even in some slow moments. a ridiculous clap can be heard... But even some shouts became classics. Even that chaos must be included in most powerful and lyrical TD concert ever! Too many happy freaks an too many reflecting points: ahahahah!, everybody was clapping on the beat... as heard from every chair! Bro's, with moments as 29:00 being on the way and going on... who would complain and misunderstand!! And the long mellotrons streams on complete silence... ¡Demasiado bueno, señores!! A seguir disfrutando.
