Feeling a warm glow, or perhaps a freezing cold wave, of nostalgia coming over me watching this. I used to down river race there with Glasgow Uni Canoe Club nearly 40 years ago. I remember it being bigger and bouncier, especially at town falls, perhaps higher water levels. Don't get on the river much these days now that boats have shrunk to half their previous size but hope to get back into it now retired. Thanks for the video.

This is a great video for those of us who are relatively new to whitewater kayaking to see how this run would be done in suitable conditions. Many others show experienced kayakers blasting the run in bigger water. Thanks for posting.

Came here to say the same. That’s about my level right there. I’ve been over Horseshoe Falls but not beyond it.

Great!! I'm just like the guy - fell out at Serpent's tail. Yet to be conquered!

How long does it take to paddle that stretch

Loads of different features & play spots on the Dee there so I would say we normally allow 2.5 to 3 hours but if you just wanted to do a quick blast down probably around 40/45 minutes.

@@peterwhatley542 Not possible at the moment as the area is under lockdown by the Welsh parliament. But usually lots of training courses are run at Mile End Mill from beginner training, leadership & coaching and Whitewater Safety & Rescue. If you Google Mile End Mill, Llangollen you should find loads of information.
