He can be a prickly bastard, but I'll be damned if Punk doesn't love the pro wrestling business with all his heart. His passion for what he does shines through. This is why he has passionate fans who chanted his name for years when he was gone. This man is definitely in the conversation for the GOAT.

That has to be the best feeling ever to work in some capacity with them. Like I’m sure Heath Slater was probably emotional after his matches with the legends

taking a stunner is an honor in wrestling the list of legends take a stunner are: Rock, Lesnar, Hogan, HBK, Cena, Bret, HHH, Booker T, Flair, Angle, Guerrero, Vince, AJ Styles, Orton, Undertaker, Kane, Scott Hall, Kevin Owens, Foley, JBL, Perfect, Batista, Steiner, Jake Roberts, Yokozuna and the list goes on. So CM Punk must take one to put it in his resume of legends in that wrestling moments.

@@Beat_daK0tonai_oiI can't remember Yokozuna taken a stunner, but Austin and Yokozuna did have a short SummerSlam match.

I would love to be able to say I took a stunner from Austin, the sharpshooter/scorpion deathlock from bret/Sting, sweet chin music from hbk, the elbow drop from macho man and the tombstone from taker. That is a career well done. I think ric flair and bret hart are the only guys who have received all of those finishers. Don't quote me though.

I've heard Punk tell this story before. It's incredible how nobody wanted to pick the brain of Steve Austin or suggest doing a dark segment!

I know they often film those dark matches for their own archives, even if they don't air. Is that segment with Austin giving stunners too Punk and the other heels stunners available to watch anywhere? I know that's a long shot of an ask.

I forgot about the stuff he let Bret do to him, the Austin dark match story I'd heard before. Bret because he'd had to sue Lloyds for his insurance payout, same as rick rude had had to do on his insurance payout, couldn't take bumps in the ring or anything. Thats why the stuff Bret did with vince was basically a squash match. So CM couldn't actually strike Bret or anything but he could take a bump for him and let him use the sharpshooter and have THAT moment with him. But also thanks to his AEW run he got to work with Sting. Hell he got to wear bladerunner sting face paint during a tag match and sting walked out in his T-shirt, and facepainted like him. Plus the brilliant feud with MJF, easily one of the best storylines of the decade. Hell the promo battle they cut on one another, people stopped talking about the pipe bomb and it got replaced by "just a less famous mizz".

To the morons who say oh! Phil is selfish! Phil is a cancer! Shut up and sit down! You’re too worried about your own spot to realize that you do still need people like Austin and Brett Hart. Seth Rollins makes an idiotic comment that we don’t need legends like Austin or Dwayne around anymore shut up! This is why punk is the best thing to happen to this in the seats since Austin.

I will never understand this he literally explained and had receipts on why he left and now people are saying he’s toxic. Fam he was literally working when he was not medically cleared and almost died and when he put his foot down to take time off to get married they over night shipped his termination papers. Mostly it was Vince’s fault but Hunter most likely apologized to get him to come back.
